71MonteCarloMD
After installing new flexplate, my 1971 Monte started up fine and idles quite well - but noticed when I drove it for a while and stopped at light, it felt like idling wasn't going well but when I put into neutral gear, idling returns to normal. All hoses are intact - not sure what I should check?
bobsmc
two things come to mind timing-when the trans is out the motor tilts back and may hit the firewall and change the timing. vacuum modulator tube is not connected properly. zmanabba
Another thing it could be is a seized stator in the torque converter not alowing slippage while idleing. But check the other sugestions first. Hopefully I am wrong. David

71MonteCarloMD
David, thanks and will check other suggestion first as I would not want to take transmission out again this soon
