Ramon Torres
does the beige wire leading to fuel sending unit be hot?
footballubet
No voltage to the sending unit. The sending unit is just like an ohmmeter and the gauge needle moves according to the reading.

wallaby
If you put a test light on that wire, it will light up, (dimly) when the key is turned on. Unplug the wire connector near the trunk latch and use the test light in the wire leading to the front of the car. I suspect that if you just stab the light into the wire while it is hooked up, you won't get a result. The resistance in the test light bulb will change the gauge reading on the dash.
