Guest
I believe CRQ was the most common sode for a '70 SS454. Does anyone have a numbers matching car with a CRN code? My buddy just bought one - CRN, numbers matching, 70,000 miles, no rust just dirty. Anyway, CRN is in the Chevrolet info as a code for the 454 in a '70 Monte but it lists it as coming with a 3-speed. ------------------ Dave Kase "Desmo888" '70 SS454
Jim Boczar
My 70 SS454 has the CRN engine code. According to the NMCOA the CRN code is correct for the 70 454 with turbo hydramatic trans.

Guest
In Alan Colvin's "Chevrolet by the Numbers" CRN is listed for the Monte but with manual shift . I have a '70 SS454 with CPA Engine stamp which is listed for a '71 Chevelle manual shift with high performance added behind it . Does anyone have an idea what the difference maybe ?
