I found this on marketplace. Hmm 🤔

There's a place out in California that make billet grilles for our monte's, $$ . Andreas wouldn't go that direction ,right ? -
Yeah, that lift is just what he needed. I'm wondering what kind of job he has. Got to go to two different city's for the same employer? All that stuff was given to him I believe, or one hell of a discount ! A couple of years ago I was thinking about purchasing a tri-five from him and go South East Gasser Racing. That's still on the back burner for me, or get a batam roadster and have some fun in the 150-160mph area!

Ryan, you can always cancel that order on the dashpad ,and get one from Leo Konink ,Koninks Klassiks ( on our resources page) . I believe they come from Muscle Factory. Very nice and not long to get either. Here's what I have gotten done on mine. It's been 3 1/2 yrs since it has been off the road, not this year!!

Welcome to the FGMCC !! Great that you are restoring a "Custom". I'm in the process of cloning my '72. Custom emblems are hard to find ,but do show up on eBay from time to time. I friend of mine lives in Ocala, FL. and is doing a restoration on a '72 Custom. I'll ask if he has an extra set of emblems. Glad to see another original one being restored!

I've been following this guy (Danny) for years! I let him know about us and our First Gen Monte Carlo's. He's done a lot of tri-fives , plus he has my favorite truck, that '56 chevy stepside. That Monte will be a "driver" for him.

Undercover Innovations (that make the show panel )has a 1 piece aluminum vent that I'm installing on my Monte Carlo. That Monte looks sweet!
-
Sweet! That's one fast Monte Carlo.

That price is just unbelievable to me. With all that work involved and that motor?
-
That looks like a great place to visit.

I'm thinking that car has been on Drag Week, and Sick Week also. I'm joining the Facebook page (under the wife's approval) also!

That's one of the show case cars they sent across the nation. Things are things cut in half and the whole drivetrain moves. It has 4 posts that lift it off the ground, we did have a video of it somewhere in the forums. Too Cool !!

That might be a way to go, through the dealer.

Jared Richey is in a "71SS" post in the general forum and is working on a '71 SS for a member . He is using Auto metal direct parts And I believe that's where the rear quarter and wheel well are from. I had asked him about the outer and he said that they are now making these for the Monte Carlo quarter panel now. When I did mine (back in '05-'06), I had to use a '69 Chevelle outer on both sides and added a 3/8"strip along the top edge, to the outer edge to make up the difference. It fit rather well except for that piece. I think they nailed it for fitment ,since Jared is using one on this '71 SS . Hope this helps and good to see you back on here.

Used the link, booked and done! -
Those kits look pretty affordable as for what you're getting. Some of these kits you see start in the $2000 range.

Wiring harness replacement.
420ponies replied to 71SSclone's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
This is about the only thing I didn't replace on mine. The harness was not touched at all...... until I got in there!! -
Be safe out there. That fire is burning quickly with those winds. I'd be ready to go if they sound the evacuation.

Not a bad price for a documented '72 .Good start to a beautiful Monte!

I hate to say but come this time next year, The Monte will be sitting outside, so I can work on other projects. It might get shuffled over to the wife's side, since she doesn't go to work everyday now. If I'm working on her project car, then I'm good. If I'm working on mine, out goes the Monte! I might have an inside storage space for it come next winter. I have a she shed that I need to enclose the rest of it. Might be a summer/ fall project. Scott , I'm going to look up that cover. Looks good!

When I was in Jacksonville, N.C. it snowed 1 time there. Good thing I had a '77 Blazer and got around in it just fine in it . Roads were closed and no one on them. Oh Yeah, I got stopped by the state police and was told "you're at your own risk out here" That was in '83 . It does "look" nice coming down, just don't go out in it if you don't have to.
