  1. Steve, try Lutty's in our parts resource on our website home page Part #: RSDG10030971 $229.00 I believe is the price. They have a section just for Monte Carlo's. Very good to deal with too. They might be at the Chevrolet National's in Carlisle too!
  2. I have tried a lot of different things to get mine running cooler. What worked for me was a 20 deg. cooler thermostat. I had run a 180 deg. with my set-up. 355 sbc, lopey cam, 3 core radiator, 7 blade flex fan that fits the whole shroud (within 1/8" of clearance), transmission cooler running thru rad. ,then to a auxiliary trans cooler. It would run 200-210 all day long (not good) . I then changed to a 160 deg. thermo stat. Now it runs at 180 all day in traffic and on the open road. cruising all day and up those Pennsylvania hills too! .Once it did get too 200 but came right back down in the open air. I have had the set-up since 2010, no problems since. that's my 2 cents
  3. I have a set off a 1998 camaro. it fits a 10 bolt rear axle. just have to make the custom ends for the E-brake cables.Have too also change out the proportioning valve. CPP products has the answers for the swap. They also just had a write-up on Hot Rod Magazine on it too.
  4. Shift Work's makes the best for our original shifters. Just takes a little getting use too!
  5. Has anyone ever tried OdoBan? Eliminates odors. I 'm going to try and get rid of the Moth ball smell in my car now since I put some in it this past winter.
  6. I wonder if they have this stuff "in stock" . I'd to see you not get this stuff and be waiting a long time for it. I 'm thinking of getting mine back into shape. I have a new Dryer and have replaced all the o-rings so far, just not the P.O.A. valve yet. New compresser and condenser back in 2010., just have'nt messed with it since then.
  7. Sredmyer...........here is what those springs do
  8. Well, got mine out finally. winter was rough on our roads, salt piles everywhere. I did use moth balls and dryer sheets this year. happy to report no small animals in the vicinity this year. Now to get the smell out. Charcoal briquettes. 260 did not do anything!
  9. BEA....utiful SS !! looks like a great buy. One lucky fella!! Welcome to the Club!! I may have to start looking for a "SS" to be in the "in" crowd.
  10. I'm sure one of the "officers"can get you one. That sure is one nice project!!
  11. He's talking about the fender/front cowl seal that is between the door and fender. elephant ears. I don't think they reproduce those yet. Leo(Konink's ) may have these. in our parts resources page.
  12. That will be about an 8 hr job. I did mine and all I can say is all that work is mighty fine when finished. mine has been done for 4 yrs and looks like I just finished it. Argent Silver from Eastwood.
  13. I have the papers all made out ,( adoption ). sending them your way. I'd like a new '17 ZL1 Camaro, red with black stripes. How am I doing? Very nice looking Monte! tell your son he is one very lucky boy! Love the color.
  14. I agree that the trip-city bumpers do look deep in chrome.and yes they have to be good candidates as for being straight.Leo has a great source for this bumpers and I for one am very pleased with the ones I have. I think the price reflects that. My front one is 10 yrs old the rear is 2yrs old and still look great.
  15. Contact Konink's klassik's (Leo) he has a good line on some excellent bumpers. I bought mine from him and very happy with them. Located in eastern Michigan. He is on our parts resources page. You'll be glad you did.
  16. Vintique Wheels have the "5 backspacing. I hope I spelled it right. some one will chime in if not. The Cargo springs alone will give it the right look. Moog is the manufacturer.Steve Lavoie knows the number of them. picture shows them. they don't go down with any amount of weight you put in the car and the don't ride rough either. plenty of room for p275/60 -15's too!!
  17. Looks Great!! looked like "swiss cheese" before. You should get this into the FGMCC News Letter as a project.
  18. Looks to me that section on the driver's side has been replaced before (oblong drain hole) and spotted weld on trans tunnel. I have replaced that entire piece under the rear seat in mine. That is a major undertaking since you have to undo the side supports(body flex when undone from floor) to get the new one in. small areas are good for replacement pieces, although you buy the whole piece and end up using what you need.Cut to fit then stitch weld not to warp piece. I believe those bolts are a 7/16" size bolt, coarse thread that hold the seat belts.Clean it all up,wipe down with acetone ,seam sealer bad spots, then self-etch primer, herculiner the inside (roll-on),Done!
  19. I agree on the upgrade to 105 amp alternator. with a set of Halogens is is the perfect solution. I'm running this in mine and liking it !
  20. Some one was asking for a picture of my redline tires Hope it helps.
  21. Hi Guys, I just scored a rear disc setup from a '98 Camaro z28 today (12 degrees today ooh yeah!) So, do I need a different master cylinder too? I'm going to adapt the LS1 e-brake cables to work also(buy new). Basically, backing plates, e-brake shoe ,caliper and bracket.
  22. Brad Penn 20w-50 in mine since new. street /strip tolerances on all bearing journals. I had been using Kendall GT,trusted this stuff since 1980, changed to Brad Penn since same company just new technology. Has the zddp in it .They also have different weights like you would use 10w-30 or 40 if you wanted. It's the only thing GREEN in my Blue Monte! Just look up a Brad Penn dealer near you!
  23. The wide ovals have that "tuxedo" look on our Monte Carlo's . I never really thought how they looked on our cars. I still like my redlines though. I think Coker had a very good price on those white wall tires.Plus they are right in Carlisle at the Spring Carlisle swap meet. I had a shop right down the street put them on my '55 Chevy stepside years ago, then drove right back to upstate New York.
  24. Don't they make us look good? I am wondering if any of them are in our club. Mike Roy's has always been my favorite. Pro-Street look and wicked launches. That Black one that looks so stock with the skinny back tires is coming on strong too.I think he runs in the low 8's? I think the Sopranos (long island crew) should take a trip to Drag Week!! I"d love to ride shotgun out there with them.
