  1. Thanks for the help. I have been searching for that post . I will keep looking.
  2. Anyone ever repair /replace there clock? I have a new gauge kit I am installing soon and wanted to repair /replace the broken clock while in the process. I remember some one on here did a quartz replacement ,but cannot remember who it was. Anyone?
  3. With my 200r4 set-up,with p275/60-15's at 70 mph is at 2,200 rpm. I was running a th350 and the same mph was 3,000 rpm. that puts the rear gear ratio at 3:42 I believe. I'm telling ya, that rpm drop makes for a boring ride if you are noticed to the high rpm you are used too. I just drop it into 3rd and right back to your th350 ride. 1st gear is very impressive!!
  4. Awesome!! thing sounds great!! What's the H.P.? Can't wait to see it at Carlisle.
  5. We had built one for a '72 Nova with a 427 Big Block,12bolt post with 4:10 gears and 31" tall tires. It was a street car(no long trips) and used a lot at the dragstrip. ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile. best was a 11.89 in florida. 1st gear was the ticket for that set-up.A good rebuild kit, shift kit and a good 2,200 stall should do it good.
  6. mine('72 ) is f-41 size 1 1/8".but mine is a small block car too.
  7. Boy, was I off on that one .to little of a picture to tell just what it was. Still like that body style though.
  8. I was wondering if you still had the Eldorado in the background. was that a '69? Love those Caddy's
  9. I am more concerned on your bore size 4.178" . A sbc 400 block is 4.125" std bore. I hope your not running 350 style heads without a "steam hole" in them. This other information is on your "487 "heads, courtesy of Mortec.com Cylinder head number #3973487....71-72...350..........1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves, was also used on '71 350/330hp LT1, 75cc chamber Cylinder head #3973487X...71-72...350..........1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves, 75cc chamber You can look on the Mortec.com website and see what you do have. I'd say those 041cyl.heads would be a good set of heads by themselves (64cc).
  10. I'm thinking you have a 400cu.in. small block.
  11. Man, you know!! I'm looking at this and never seen this much attention to the body mods and interior. Nice Monte!! And I'm lovin'the color you picked. Maybe I can talk my wife into that color on her '88 Fiero Formula.
  12. Best way to look at it is in your post on Oct. 28 at 2:05am. You see where you rubber handle is laying inn the picture? they would go in your new piece just below that hammer handle.
  13. Yes Rodney it will work with a vinyl top.those drain plugs will be facing the rear glass, away from the vinyl top and just below the vinyl top on the flat part opposite from the glass.Your rear glass sealer will lift the glass off the metal and you will see how they will drain on the channel.
  14. Now would be a good time to put in those drain hoses. Go to Auto zone and get 2 radiator drain repair kits ( plastic tube with 2 orange rubber gaskets). Install them right where that curved piece from the quarter stops and just after the weld area on that piece you replaced. Drill a hole thru, insert tube with gaskets and tighten plastic nut on under side. Then just run rubber/vinyl see thru tubing (Home Depot ) down thru your drain plugs on trunk drop offs. you will be amazed how much water runs out of those 2 tubes. I hope this is accurate enough for you, Since I can't find a picture of it. Had mine done for the last 9yrs. As this post states, right where the curved piece ends at the bottom of your window panel on the side that the trim piece attaches,(trim clips ). that is where ttose drain tubes will go. I will try to find a picture though I do not think I have one.
  15. No , you will have to sacrifice a hole in that repair piece. They go into the rail after you are done with that repair .The flat part will be on that repair side with the tube going into the trunk. The gasket goes between the rail and the flat piece for the tube( I just finger tightened the nut). You can get the clear tubing at Home Depot. the size I can't remember but I got like 4ft of it.They run down your trunk to your drain plugs. I drilled/cut them for that size then rubber gasketed them to hold in place in the plugs.

  17. here is what it looks like
  18. Sent you a PM Rodney. Hang tight.

  20. Inlinetube.com .I have mine on my car since '05 and look the same as the day I put them on. best thing I ever did for it.
  21. Just got the chance to read this thread. Amazing!! I sure hope you didn't sell the convertible. To find this car in the shape it was in... and to see it now as you are bringing it back to life. I can't wait to see this in person. All us upper New Yorkers should meet at the syracuse Nat'ls next year!
  22. Love that car!! saw it up on youtube ,(I think that was it) . Good to hear you were a part of the build Leo!!
  23. Congrats to all the winners!!
  24. Ditto on that Sam!! cut'em, your replacing them right? Then I'd use a transmission line wrench on the new ones. Any parts store or Sears would have the wrench. You only strip them once! InLineTube.com has some nice Stainless Steel ones to replace them with. I think I paid $45.00 for mine.
  25. This lookin' sweet!! I may need you to come down and help with my '65 Chevelle. Like that cage work. nice and tight to the body. Gonna be one mean Monte!! I like that it is a '72.
