Murphy
My 71 chassis manual shows the spring hooks into the frame but doesn't specify SB or BB.
ss454-71
Here are a couple of spring brackets that are listed for the Monte. The first one is listed as "Clutch Return Spring Bracket Bracket Attaches to Engine and the Spring Attaches to it Fits 1968-70 Chevelle / El Camino 1970-70 Monte Carlo" The second one is called out as "Bracket, Z-Bar Return Spring, 1968-72 Chevelle/El Camino, 1970-72 Monte Carlo" and "This part mounts to the firewall above the Z-Bar for the return spring to hang from." Not sure which or neither or if both are correct? The 1970 assembly manual identifies a return spring on the clutch fork to the frame. I'm looking for the one that comes directly off the Z Bar. farmall
If I remember correctly, mine hooks to the end of the clutch fork and the hooks to a hole in the frame.
