  3. sorry... I should have mentioned that I have all of the parts on order and should be here soon..I am using chevelle inner and outer housings, so they will match up, as I have to replace them both and am making the width of the wheelhouse a "little" bigger (hint, hint) WOW that was a super fast response. I have been looking at several other post and knew about the bracing..just wondering what order of replacement..seat pan 1st then go back..there is just so much to be replaced I dont want to get into any body flexing and non alignment of panels IMO seat pan 1st then trunk then 1/4s..???
  4. Hello all!!!! Well I got this "beauty" on ebay. drove 10 hours to pick it up..now I'm asking myself what I got into.. I am in need of.. 1. now floor from tunnel to rear seats 2. new trunk pan from rear backrest to the trunk lock 3. inner and outer quarters 4. both quarters...egaad!!!!! my wife calls me a big ol dumbass..I almost agree I have someone I am going to help, do the job...however I would like some opinions from the forum as to the sequence of panel replacement that would be the safest and best way On my way!! Bill...and thankshttp://www.firstgenmc.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/default/tongue.gif

  7. sorry correction it is the 2004r trans....and if I strayed off topic my question is in regards to the floor shifter and any mods needed to go from 3 speed to 4 speed aside from a new gear selection window on the console... cheers
  8. hello all!, this is my first official post her on this site. I have been reading just about every entry on all topics to learn as much as I can before posting. I purchased a 70 in the spring for my b-day and the car is currently awaiting quarters wheel wells and a rear seat pan. As I wished to update the orig 350 with the th350 tranny...a deal has come up and wish to act on it..just saw the engine today..I WAS looking at the gm ls3 376/480 buuuut??? I can get alot more done with the$$$$$difference ..it is an engine tranny combo...(550 hp with the r2 trans) question being the newer tranny is a four speed and was wondering if there are any modifications that I need to do to the floor shifter to go from 3 to 4 speed...I know that I can get a new shift position window for the console but do I have to mode the internal links to match up gear with postion. I have learned alot reading and looking at everyones rebuilds(very inspiring)since Christmas...sorry I just cant find any info in the archives...or perhaps I have been looking in the wrong areas of the site...oops thank in advance...Bill
