  1. No problem. Yes my cruise was factory set up. Non a.c. car. And from what ive been told. You are right pretty rare in the 72 custom. My car is california built and stayed there till 1984. Im suprised it was ordered as non ac in such a warm climate yet it has cruise control Cool thing is it still works!!!
  2. I have factory cruise as well. I will try and snap some pics tomorrow for you if needed..I have a 72 custom
  3. Hello all. My monte has a 350 with 4brl quadrajet. Mine is stamped "manufactured by carter" on it. All the numbers are present and decoded it to be stock from what I understand. Anyone know about this and is there any differences from the one rochester makes? It is almost like carter helped rochester out at some point. Any ideas are appreciated
  4. Sounds good. I will look into the LED option. Thank you
  5. Thank you guys. Thats what I was looking for
  6. Hello all! I was wondering what type of bulb is needed for the rear of the center counsel. When I open my door all my courtesy lights work besides this one. I noticed two wires that come out with clips..they look seperate but im assuming these hold a cylindrical bulb? All I know is when the clamps touch when the door is open they spark. Also the plastic pAnel has always had a small crack. Anyone know where I can get this panel that screws in back of counsel at a good price. Looks like opgi wants 55 dollars. Thanks everyone. Eric
  7. I have also seen that combination in pewter silver. Mine is also pewter but has the black buckets and dash. I agree check out your cowl tag and use this site to decode it. This is what I did. Amazing information on here
  8. Took it out for its first ride of the year! Great feeling. Put on a new air filter and logged about 25 miles..started up on first crank...of course I also detailed it a bit
  9. I also heard amsoil "severe gear" is a great lubricant for the rear ends on our cars.
  10. That looks like a piece I saw behind my heater controls. And a bulb screwed in where that circle was to give it a greenish blue tint when illuminated. Im not sure because I never fully pulled the part off but saw something similar when replacing that little bulb
  11. That bumper and grill look great patrick! good work! Im thinking of contacting Leo for a 72 front bumper in the future here..how was the bumper project, difficult or did everything bolt up pretty good? Are these original refurbished bumpers that Leo sells? Whatever they are they look good
  12. Here is my steering wheel on my 72 custom. I have also heard this one called the "NK2", but it was described to me as "sport steering wheel" I also have the comfortilt and cruise options. The steering wheel looks the same as the one posted but it doesn't look like a tilt column. I have also seen the same steering wheel with a "ss" written on the horn button. I am not sure if that was put on from factory or if people just switch the bowtie logo out.
  13. I enjoy looking through their catalogs, but my last experience wasn't all to good. I ordered a fuel pump to carb steel fuel line (prebent)that was supposed to fit. Tried installing it and it was way to long and the bends were way off so I was unable to use it.and there was no way to snake it in behind the alternator.I called customer service and the guy says "well if you got extra tubing why not wrap it around the rear bumper first" funny indeed but not when your car is disabled. They were very good on the return policy however and wanted to do whatever they could to replace it. My buddy had a custom bender so we made our own instead
  14. I also heard montes in 72 had th o be special ordered f you wanted a triple black custom. Ive seen 454 customs on ebay in tan /saddle, but it could have been repainted. My custom is the 350 and factory color is pewter silver but I think any color could be ordered. Maybe someone else can chime in
  15. Yes. Love amsoil as well. 10w30 in the 72 350. 5w30 in my 5.3 07 silverado with AFM. 97 monte with 3.1 also gets it and it has 200k miles on it!
  16. thats funny. Same thing by me here in wisconsin. Saw the snow piled up and had a dream later that night that I was operating it
  17. Ok thanks. My 97 monte has the felt glued on but all modern cars seem to. Im sure the cardboard will be brittle and defaced since it was glued. Maybe a good factory replacement with dual speaker cutout s will work nicely in your car in black
  18. I didn't know that the package tray had fabric over it. Mine looks like a piece of heavy cardboard that is black with a vinyl seal that seals against the backseat. Mine was replaced in 1986 at a chevy dealer here in wisconsin. I have receipt and previous owner was a manager at the dealership. Did he just not put the fabric back over it? I also have one speaker cutout on passenger side rear
