Ok thanks. Is it easiest to just pull the dash pad to change these? I initially tried just taking screws out of gauge faceplate but everything was so tight after the screws were removed and I didnt want to crack anything. Any tips?

Thank you for this information. I have the basic am/fm radio. Its a non a.c. car. So I have a center dash speaker and I have one passenger rear side on top of the package tray.

Do all stock dashes have this speaker? Or is it only cars that were equipped with the auxiliary audio package? Just curious.

Great explanation. I however even when cranking the engine have never seen any of those gauges light up red.so I must have a bulb out. My light for the parking brake does show red when engaged and when my brights are on my light is blue. Those are the only ones I see working as of now

I had a similar question. Everytime we start these cars is the oil light supposed to flash red as well as the temp and gen lights? I have never got these lights to illuminate so I guess If im running hot it would be nice to know. Could it be just bad bulbs? If so are they just red 194 bulbs?

I heard that also. If the whole thing is rusty opgi direct offers a one piece reasonable. If you only had one bad section then I'd recomend getting it piece by piece

Those are great pics..I always thought it was weird how only the canadian customs had z03 on the cowl tag. My custom was built in van nuys ca and cowl tag does not have it. Is that for all U.S customs?

Drove more miles as well.as long as we have consistent 50s in wisconsin she will stay out. Put a nice coat of wax on and put some 303 areospace on the vinyl top and dash. Good stuff!

I just looked at the 72 brochure and the sport steering wheel came on custom model if you ordered comfort tilt.. according to the manual the custom was mainly set apart by the wire wheels (but you could get ralleyes if you wanted)and convienance lighting..out of all the boxes to check options nothing about lighting is mentioned unless you ordered a custom apparently

That's sounds about right. I didn't know the 4 spoke wheel could be ordered on any monte. I thought that was also custom specific

Yes. I have seen that list of options. I just heard some of those options could be ordered on a base monte as well. Wasnt sure what options out of that list are exclusive to the custom (I would think steering wheel and sway bars) my custom has all the mentioned items. But my trailering arms don't appear to be boxed but has the f41 type suspension everywhere else. I would assume the zk1 insulation package is the material under hood? Special acoustical package I'm unsure if I have. I have a front and rear speaker. The rear speaker is on package tray. Front speaker in dash pad

Wow that's great to have a w code!!! I guess I'm just curious as to what options officially make it a custom, I heard you could order thr same options on a non custom. Is it the steering wheel with comfort tilt 4 spoke ect and sport mirror.in other words what came on the custom that you couldn't get on any other models?
