  1. The 10 bolt will be fine unless you put a set of slicks or drag radials on it
  2. if you remove the 2 allen head screws, it will unlock the mech advance, then buy a kit and a vacuum can
  3. the gear gear is stamped 41 & 15 so that's a 2.73 gear so a 2 series carrier
  4. that trans would work great with your combo, the 2.98 first gear would help you a bunch the hardest part of doing a manual swap in a monte is finding the cross shaft (Z bar) frame mount, it is a monte only specific part, if I were going to do a manual swap, I'd pony up for a hydraulic release bearing set up ($400-600) that would eliminate the cross shaft (Z bar) and the rest of the clutch linkage
  5. it's going to cost me $3300 for everything, but I need the stage three trans
  6. at 70 my rpm's are around 3500 when you shift into OD it will drop your rpm's to under 2000 rpm's how accurate is your speedo?
  7. with a 2.73 gear....I wouldn't get an overdrive trans, you're just not going to benefit from the overdrive
  8. passengers side, front side of tube I'm going with Bowtie overdrives http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/ make sure you get the proper carb linkage for the TV cable, it is a critical for proper operation of a 200 or a 700
  9. I plan on getting a 200, that first gear with the 700 and my 3.73 gear just don't mix well the 200's 200r4, 2.74, 1.57, 1.00, 0.67, 2.07 for reverse the 700's is 700r4, 3.06, 1.62, 1.00, 0.70, 2.29 for reverse that 1st/2nd drop of a 700 is terrible
  10. to use the no ac controls you will need to use the no ac heater box, you will also need to plug the heat hose holes and cut new ones for the no ac heater core, most people take a section of firewall from a no ac car, cut out the ac section and weld in the new no ac section, you will need to drill new hole for mounting too
  11. I have the 450# springs, they are weak for my 454 with iron heads
  12. ditch the TH350 and pony up to a 200 4R and have an overdrive
  13. look up the rules first, you'll need to cover the package tray too and possibly the rear side panels
  14. how much power are you making? had mine into the 10's using a stock case with no issues
  15. my self adjusters work fine, they adjust when you apply the brakes when in reverse Glen, snug up the rear brakes until you get a slight drag, and if the brakes are new, drive it a while to burn off the fuzz then re-adjust them
  16. rear brake adjustment effects the brake pedal greatly on these cars loose brakes-low pedal tight brakes-high pedal
  17. well the set of 781's I have were only 113 CCs, same withe the 049 I have I had the 781's shaved down to 108 CCs running a 13.8 cc dome, block decked to approx .010 and a .039 head gasket puts me at a true 10:1 if I was to do it again, I would just buy the race rites with the 2.19 intake valves, I sunk $1100 into my 781's Murphy....be careful with 1st gear!!! if I stab it...it snaps to 6000 rpm in a blink of an eye! even with drag radials in it your tires won't have a chance
  18. 049 & 781's are my perfered choices, I favor the 049's over the 781's, you won't need to install larger valves for what you are trying to accomplish, actually the smaller valves will probably build better low end torque and the bigger valves aren't really ness until you start pulling 6000+ rpm
  19. NEVER! vacuum advance should be on manifold vacuum
  20. Only the 1 bolt for the fuel pump rod
