  1. Yes that would be me! "Car 15 reporting for duty!" NAME:Brian Den Bleyker CAR: 72 black smallblock Custom ARRIVAL:scheduled for Friday early afternoon PARTY:2 adults max(I'm rolling either way, even if its just me and the 'ole gal'!) I also registered the car on line and have the receipt-notes "FGMCC"on the order. Rob and Steve thanks again for getting back to me to answer questions-5 years since my last trip to Carlisle and didnt think this could be pulled off last minute! Cant wait! We'll give her the 40th annivesary party she deserves even if some 'professionals' think otherwise!
  2. Oh no-Allen I nearly fell off my chair-just when you think you've idiot-proofed something, its time to think "idiot times 10" -its just unbelievable!!!(and presumably NOT getting any better)...
  3. I have the rubber push in as well on my 72-I guess they felt they had to put the word on there so the pump jockey didn't think COOLANT was to go in thru there(or maybe the legal dept was on top of things-"nobody told me what not to pour down there-it all goes to the same place, don't it??? " SUE SUE SUE!!!)
  4. Capri I would also like to thank you for all those photos-I just went thru it on slideshow and relived the whole thing-now why can't I pack the car THIS Thursday and do it all again!! All those folks, together 17+ hours a day,and nothing but great times-just like a big extended family(well I don't know if I'd want to be penned up with MY extended family that long)-maybe being "related by Monte" is the best way of all!!! Thanks again Brian ps the photos of Saturday's sunset filtering thru those wet hoods are awsome. A sunset in the West,a magnificent full rainbow in the East-how's that to top off a great day??
  5. just my opinion...like you did with the motor I would wait and have it proffesionaslly done. There are special tools and like almost any trade "tricks and techniques"thst you will not have access to on your own. Also,as others have stated do notr show up with any parts-like many trades the warranty goes out the window and usually only aggravates the craftsman.Better to research various shift kits ahead of time this way you get the trans thst you want, and go in as an'educated consumer'".
  6. I just had the TH350 done and based on the info here told the rebuilder I wanted absolutely "no bang" and "no slip".He went with the Transgo kit as described above. Its shifts perfectly!
  7. Rob,you hit the nail right on the head!!We already have the ULTIMATE combination of class, style, performance and luxury-indeed that alone sets the FGMC apart! In my opinion, save yourself the money and the trouble. But if you do go with it,do your research first so you stay safe with no regrets.Enjoy!!!
