  1. Clock worked fine after installing another ground. I may have set it wrong to begin with, if my memory serves me correctly I removed my watch as I didn’t want to scratch it up working in confined spaces,
  2. installed 275/60/15 on 15x8 ralley with 5”bs, got to remove them they are rubbing on the inside, one step forward…
  3. good suggestion, it may end up as a canary in a coal mine
  4. just saw your post welcome from another Marylander
  5. Replaced the clock with the Parts Store quartz model, after a few days it has gained 40 minutes(running fast), has anyone experienced this? I have been dealing with a dashboard grounding issue, gas gauge going below empty with the headlights on, could this be symptomatic of the same problem?
  6. A friend backed his trailer into the front of his 71 monte and needs lf&rf front fenders, says year one has them on back order for the last 18 months, anyone know of a source for them?
  7. I asked a friend once what types of plugs should I use in my 500+hp sbc. Bill has won multiple Walleys’, taught me how to build engines, and has gained my trust. I asked which was better E3’s, … his reply was spark plugs only supply a spark, there is little difference between the types then he said he uses NGK’S.
  8. from your pictures I did miss one ground the single wire to the instrument cluster, and I’m not sure of the emergency brake that I will have to check, I did tape the terminal on the clock for me everyday is Saturday except Sunday hopefully I’ll be motivated enough to get it done tomorrow ps- the part store’s clock movement is the same as oem (second had stops after moving forward one second) the only differences are the lack of the clicking noise and the device that locks the adjusting nob to the stem is black not silver that and it’s quartz
  9. replaced the board and clock, clock worked fine. the circuit board not so well, I thought the gas gauge was working again but when I turned on the headlights the gas gauge dropped below empty, had no left turn signal replaced the new bulb still no turn signal dash light all the outside lights worked fine, no dash lights either anyone have any advice?
  10. ‘71, hadn’t thought about selling it
  11. the trace in the circle is for the gas gauge I hope it clears that up when I reinstall it
  12. I was just promoted from apprentice to explorer, I was hoping for journeyman status lol
  13. pulled the dash to replace the pc board and found the possible cause of lighting issues and the gas gauge malfunction, pc was in worse condition that I anticipated and I think I may have found the problem with the gas gauge as the end of the trace might have been pulled away from the plug that inserts into the pc board
  14. After running the clock overnight, the clock lost time even after I had cleaned it, lubed it and attempted to polish the contacts(over my work life it has been the rule to replace not polish contacts, but I tried with no success). I have ordered a new quarts clock for two reasons; first-lack of a source to purchase the contacts needed to repair the clock, second-even if I found a source for the contacts they were a poor design choice to begin with and replacing the contacts would put me in the same position some time in the future. thanks all you your advice john
  15. Replacing the pc board on the dash so while it’s out I pulled the clock, cleaned the contacts and the clock started but has become intermittent. Anyone know a source for the contacts in the clock or is quarts the way to go?
  16. oh no, you mean this could happen, lol I’m in Ocean City at the Endless Summer Cruise In and after looking at the multitude of well done cars it’s no longer a snowball it’s an avalanche.
  17. Saw my first MC last night a blue one ,just a quick glance not sure of the year, 20+ tri 5’s, too many chevelles to count, so many mustangs I needed a cowboy to round them up(very large police presence, special event zone 30mph everywhere) there driving the boardwalk as I type. Haven’t been to the vendor area yet, it will be interesting to see who shows up
  18. I received the new pc board yesterday, Hopefully I can start the install, clock and gas gauge, trans position indicator, wow that list is getting bigger I better get started lol
  19. looking for the write up I’ll give it a try. thanks, john
  20. The gauge points to about 3 o’clock with the key on or off. When I bought the car the gauge was just over full, I replaced the tank and sending unit with and in tank pump when I installed a holley sniper. The chassis ground was corroded so I sanded it clean, if I remember correctly I verified continuity between the chassis and the fuel gauge terminal(a mind is a terrible thing to waste). The tan wire in the trunk has no voltage to ground and I don’t get an ohms reading across it. Most of the dash light were burnt out so I replaced them. One had a loose trace on the circuit board but I was able to get it to lay down under the contact. I pulled the connector from the pc board and attempted to clean it but didn’t see any issues there. I have ordered a new circuit board( I guess that’s what you call it) thinking there may be an issue there. thanks for the reply john
  21. non ethanol is hard to find in Md, I will not use exxon
  22. any suggestions on clock and gas gauge replacement/repairs
  23. I know it may be the same old boring ralley wheels, but I love ‘em. 15x8, 5” bs with 275x60/15 black walls out, new beauty rings, any suggestions on how to paint the black in the centers? Had to mortgage the house but she got a full tank of gas as well, pictures to follow soon
