You tube link I have some questions about timing, but first things first : shouldn’t the timing light flash EVERY time cylinder one fires? So looking at my video (warm engine idle, vacuum removed & plugged, 350 SBC) does the patchy light show that cylinder one is missing a few beats?

Straighten rear bumper alignment

I tried bending the corners by hand, and I’m telling you, Joe needs a cape if he can bend that metal into shape! I made a jig with a ratchet strap with a hook end, and a pick axe handle, worked pretty good! The corners must have been caught, reversing into a garage or something, because they’re twisted forward and out. Probably bumper off to push those corners back in. Maybe not a bad thing cos there’s a lot of dirt under there that’s hard to get at. -

I was thinking of moving the whole bumper to tighten up the gap across the whole length of the trunk lid, how does the gap look… -

Straighten rear bumper alignment

Thanks guys. Are y’all using proper tools for this or just a chain attached to some 2x4? Or possibly reversing slowly into something not too scrapy? 😨 -

Hi Folks, I’m getting a new dual exhaust system fit to the manifold next week, so I want to straighten my rear bumper before they are fit. From searching the forum I think I need to loosen the very edge bolt and then just use force to twist it correct. Bit nervous about the twisting part! Is it the brace mount that needs to be loosened (as per photo)? Are you guys using a ‘hustler stick’ to move the bumper, or a DIY tool, or what?

I looked at the filter - it’s paper - and it seems good, but I have a brass type coming from TPP. Is the sender unit the part on the tank that sends info to the fuel gauge? Drop the tank job yeah?
-
Thanks Dennis, don’t want to change anything, just want to fix my fuel issue and get the gauge working. Here is the Vapor chamber on my ‘72

Ok lads, based on Stangeba’s (very useful) diagram, those three hoses are metal, and are the same three I see in this photo… so the two rubber hoses (in my first photo) go to the pump, and return from condenser, is that right? Could explain my intermittent stuttering engine issue if the corroded one is to the pump.
-
Ok I’m having black coffee this morning! The corroded line - is this the one that goes to the fuel nipple? What does it do? What effect will the corrosion have on the system?
-
I’m trying to sort the stuck fuel gauge and while I’m under here checking the ground connection. There are 3 hoses coming out from the tank, can anyone tell me what they are and where they go? the one I’m holding here is totally corroded
-
Car is running great (4bbl SBC ‘72) but I still have a very intermittent stutter which I am now convinced is gunk in the fuel filter. I’m ordering other stuff from TPP and this brass bronze stone type filter is the only one that matches my car, but none of the other websites seem to stock this one. Just making sure it’s correct? part #FT21708C

As a bit of a loose nut myself I can sympathise
-
This is under the dash, on the firewall inside the car. The nut is a little loose, wondering should I tighten her up? im down there looking for the seat belt buzzer so I can destroy it!
-
I got tired of waiting for the interior guys to call me back, they are too busy. I’m glad I did it just to see how it all goes together. Best of luck I hope they do it nice for you.

Finally got the headliner done! It ain’t perfect but I’m really happy with it. i have a question about the weatherstrip, the doors are very hard to close, they need a very hard slam. I wonder is the corner installed right… see photo, should the weatherstrip protrude past the corner, or stay in behind it like I have it?
-
Maybe I don’t need to move it. I got 4° advance at cold idle, and 8° warm idle. I don’t know rpm but when I revved a little it went past 12°. Manual says: Centrifugal advance 18°@4200rpm 8° ignition timing at idle BTDC engine sounds good after I fixed a vacuum leak
-
I loosened this nut to adjust the advance as I checked the timing. I’m now wondering if it’s the correct nut because the dist didn’t budge when this nut was loose enough for the plate underneath to move freely. Is the plate underneath broken or am I at the wrong nut?

Haha you know your Celtic mythology Scott! St Patrick banished the mighty Krom, but us pagans like a good pub session and St Patrick puts on the biggest show - All is forgiven!

Happy St. Patrick’s day gents, have a good one 🍻

Happy St. Patrick’s day gentlemen, hope you are doing something fun with the day and taking your pride & joy out for a rip. Gorgeous weather here in Ireland (most unusual for today) Monte never far from my mind!

I will try that Ed. I have a few basics to go through once the new plugs arrive 👍🏻
