  1. Rob, I’m sorry, I just searched my emails and I see that I did receive the club dues notification you sent out. I just must’ve missed it. I just sent my payment via PayPal. Thanks!
  2. My buddy Gary in the 2013 Corvette shared with me this clip of drone footage he took from Monte Carlo lane at the fairgrounds in Logan. temp_video_for_share.mov

  5. This is certainly a view y’all are familiar with, but finally for the first time, I get to see what my car looks like with the stock style wheel properly aligned! Thanks to Jared Richey for selling me the wheel!
  6. What a great turnout! I got to reconnect with friends from before as well as make new friends. Talisa and I both had a great time. Aaron has a way with directing meets and the guys all pitch-in and help get everything accomplished. The cruise was so fun, such a joy to see all the cars rolling through town and down the winding canyon roads! Non-typical July weather kept us from melting, and I think it only sprinkled on us 1 time. Thank you all for coming to chill with me in my hood! I cant wait to crash Aaron's town next year LOL.
  7. That’s too bad Doug and his White Knight won’t make it! But I’ll bet it was fun cruising with a new member.
  8. No, it’s a straight column. I got it straightened out. I took the whole shaft out and separated the joint near the firewall, flipped it over and reassembled.
  9. I know the pitman arm is centered correctly because I have the exact same amount of revolutions from center to left lock and center to right lock.
  10. It had a 3 spoke sport steering wheel on it when I bought it. Those wheels have multiple pilot holes for the cancel cam. So you can orient the wheel a few different ways. So I recently bought a stock steering wheel to put on the car. That wheel only has one pilot hole for the cancel cam. This is how I discovered it’s 180 out. The master tooth on the center shaft is at 7:00 and in order for my locking plate and cancel cam to orient with the pilot hole in the stock wheel, the master tooth needs to be at 1:00. I tried flipping the shaft 180 at the rag joint but the 2 bolts that hold it together are different sizes, so I cannot clock it the opposite way. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to pull the column into the passenger compartment enough to separate the collar on the intermediate shaft from the center shaft and then reassemble.
  11. I’m at a total loss. Don’t know what to do. My steering column and wheel are 180 opposing. Gearbox centered, rag joint only goes on one way. But the master tooth on my column puts my locking plate, cancel cam, and wheel exactly upside down. I literally need to flip the center shaft 180, but don’t know where or how! Any help is appreciated!
  12. There will also be more first generation Monte Carlos at the show than any other make and model!
  13. this summer there will be the most first generation Monte Carlos in Logan, Utah at one time since the early 70's when Axtell Taylor Chevrolet on Main St. had them in the lot!
  14. Yeah, I'd be interested in taking a look if you don't mind! That would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Yeah, the guy I bought it from kept that. I don't have an air cleaner for it currently. I need to get a spacer and a drop pan for it, then a cover.
  16. Not a lot of big work done on the 71 tonight, but I did get the battery cable ends cleaned up, reconditioned, new ground wire, and serviced the rear diff. She’s camped out in the shop with her green cousin for the night.
  17. Yeah, it’s mine, please return it promptly lol! 🤣. J/K
  18. Well I did find a guy not too far away from me that has a bench seat frame, an original dash pad, some other odds and ends, and he’s gonna dig through his stash of axles to see if he’s got a 12-bolt. Gonna meet up at his shop in a couple weeks and make a deal. It’s a start.
  19. Lol, I don’t choose the scrap we use, I don’t even see the steel until is already molten. That’s why I say “without knowing.” But seriously though, I’ve been to every wrecking yard in northern Utah and southern Idaho and there’s not one 1st Gen MC carcass anywhere!
  20. Well I like the positive angle you guys put on it!! I hadn’t thought of it that way. Been watching a lot of junkyard videos on YouTube. And I know a tremendous amount of my company’s scrap comes from crushed cars. Just had me thinking sad thoughts lol.
  21. I work in a steel mill that recycles scrap iron (not a smelter that uses ore to make new iron) and I wonder how many cool old cars (how many 1st Gen MC’s) I’ve turned into rebar, angle iron, and channel iron over the last 20 years without even knowing!
  22. My 71's serial number is 526027 built in Oshawa, Ontario. 4th week of Feb. M7 72's serial number is 575762 built in Arlington, Texas 4th week of Apr.
  23. I have been a member for just over a year. Met Aaron at the Western Meet 2022 in Oregon. he and I have become pals, and I've seen some of the efforts and a small bit of the "behind the scenes" work he does! Thank you Aaron, and Thank You all for such a great community of friends and knowledge! The FGMCC club is so much fun to be a part of.
