    Fuel System

I was having the same problem. I went through 2 of the Holley blue pumps and the 2nd pump only had about 7 hours of run time. So, I just put a mechanical pump on the car yesterday so I won't have to worry about it anymore but I see you don't have that option. I wasn't using a return line but there are many different opinions on whether or not that will help. Good luck but I just don't know.
  2. Ok. I posted one of these some time ago but with open headers. I switched fuel pumps today and had my wife take a little video of the car running through the mufflers.
  3. Just thought I would throw this out there in case someone else runs into this problem. Just bought a new Dell about 2 weeks ago. I got everything set up and tried to get the Comcast internet going on the new machine. I had everything hooked up correctly but the internet was working sometimes and when it did work it was operating like it was dial-up. I was able to determine that there was a program interfering with the Comcast internet. After about a day and a half of messing around I was able to determine that the problem was with the Dell Remote Access program that was installed on the machine for a free 30 day trial. After I removed that program the internet works fine.

    Tubing

I know it's already been said but it's alot of work and money. I do love the look though and I'm the only Monte in my area that's tubed.
  5. The secondary is plugged from factory and a car builder I know says the first thing he does with ALL his carbs is plug the PV's so I thought I would give it a try to see if the car likes it.
  6. The taller decks will allow more clearance for a longer stroke, hence, more cubes.
  7. I took the carb apart yesterday to install new jets and to plug the primary power valve. Trying to see what the engine likes. Tech above answered the question. No extensions and no notched bowls as mine is a GC carb. I must say that my carb had alot of trash in it. One of the primary jets was completely blocked by something and don't know how all that crap got in there. Fuel filter looked good but replaced the element anyway. Stared it up and seemed a whole lot better but didn't take it down the road. Idled alot better and started easier.
  8. I'm buying the 135's next time. Right now I run the 90's but had to run the wires under my headers (between the block and header). I like the look though cause the wires are hidden but it worries me. Had to use a boat load of wire ties.
  9. By the BG website I don't think they have the extensions either and have no plans to install them at this point in time. I did not know that there could be interference so good to know for future reference. Now I know why he asked about notched floats.
  10. Cool and thanks. The BG site says most tuneable parts interchange but I just wanted to make sure before I buy a jet kit from Jegs. If and when I remove the bowls I'll let you know.
  11. I have a BG Mighty Demon and I am still in the process of tuning my car. Question is do the Mighty Demon's use the same jets and power valves as the Holley's? Thanks Harris
  12. I always liked the NGK's and I did the same thing 680HPStroker did except I emailed them. They did tell me that I need to check the plugs to see if I needed to go up or down on the heat range. So far so good. I also have a 402 but I don't remember the part number I have.
  13. No trans brake and no I haven't run it yet. I thought about what your talking about and I hope I don't have a problem with it. With the cage, the frame is really stiff but who knows once I launch it.
  14. WOW! Mine's stripped out about the same. About the same amount of cage but mine's tubed. I have never weighed mine yet but I would do back flips if mine was at anything under 3500 lbs. I would LOVE 2700 lbs.
  15. I know it said with exhaust but I couldn't help it. Have exhaust on it now but no video. Anyway, 414 BBC with open headers. [/img]
  16. I have no idea what my car is gonna weight. I have a fiberglass hood, trunk lid, and dash. The car is pretty stripped down. Here are a few pics. As always, the project is never done and I'm still trying to finish this thing up if I ever do.
  17. I love it!!!!!!!!! That is one cool looking car. Hoping mine weights about the same and I know I'm going to have to change my current gear as I only have a 4.10 in there now with the 33 inch rear tire. How much of your car is fiberglass?
  18. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! It reminds me of my car especially the first pic.

    Diesel Monte?

Exactly what I would like to do but would cost big $$'s. Would be really cool though and should still turn some good number's at the track. If I ever hit the lottery I'm putting one in my car and then I could drive the dang thing everywhere.
  20. That would be personal preference. In my above post, I did the strip version but I wanted the tranny to nail 2nd and 3rd. As far as a converter, that would all depend on what your combo is. Get all your specs together and call any of the good companies such as Coan or ATI. They're a little pricey but good. I'm sure others could add to the list.
  21. I put a B&M shift kit in another 72 Monte that I had. It had a 406 sb with a TH350 and it would easily chirp 2nd and if I was really on it, it would chirp 3rd.
  22. As long as the tranny is in good working order then I would say that it wouldn't hurt anything by putting in a shift kit.

    driveshaft

I just had a new drive shaft built for my 72 that has a 402 BB and a TH350 and it is 56 1/2 inches from center to center.
  24. I have never used anything but Moser but I'm sure all the other companies are just as good.
