  1. Drill the hole don't look back!
  2. I always put a 3/16 hole in the flange of a thermostat if I am running one. When I am filling a engine with coolant I like to leave the thermostat housing off until I see coolant in the manifold crossover. Where is your timing at. If it is retarded it will build heat!

    10.02!

Moved my shift points up to 6700 on my shift light and moved my Rev limit to 7300. Reinstalled my favorite shift light and was rewarded with these slips. I talked to my Connecting Rod manufacturer (actually the president of the company) and he feels there is plenty of room to go higher on the REV limit. We will have to see what happens if I move the shift points up a little more.
  4. We are on the same page Dave, your explanation is better!
  5. That seems a little steep, I have a lot less in the starter turning over my 13 to 1 555.
  6. Put my favorite shift light back in and raised the shift points to 6700. Going to see what happens today!
  7. Todd. I Prefer Thompson. I don't think Quaker is open yet. Dave, I actually should not have said squat. As the car comes up it transfers the weight to he rear, and compresses the rear springs and shocks.
  8. More Pictures Burnout launch launch 2
  9. Steve, Rear springs are soft, I had the softest rears for a monte on it and then went a little softer with a spacer. I wish I could tell you what the rate is, they are red and I got them from Crazy Davey. I am amazed how much it squats down on the rear. I check the shock travel after every pass, I get about 4 1/2 inches of downward travel on launch.
  10. Shocks are QA1 double adjustable on all four corners. Moroso 'trick' front springs. Big tall coils 260 lbs per inch. Scary as heck to compress and put in, like handling a hand grenade wit the pin halfway out! I had to make a longer bolt for my spring compressor. Upper A frames are aftermarket with tall ball joints for more travel. Lower A frames are aftermarket because the factory ones are ugly. BMR anti roll bar in the rear. Big improvement! Adjustable upper control arms with heim ends to the chassis. South side machine style traction links on the lower bars.
  11. First picture of the year. My photographer (wife) was not there this weekend.
  12. Patrick, I am about 8 months older than you! The car felt great, I was trying to be easy on it!
  13. Great Day 60 Ft 1.37 330 FT 4.12 1/8 6.43 @ 105.40 1000 Ft 8.46 1/4 10.19 @ 130.23 It still has more in it. The car was a bit ahead of me today every thing is happening quicker! The engine ran great, I need to work on the tune!
  14. Loaded it into the trailer, going to beat the snot out of it tomorrow!
  15. saturday, Saturday, SATURDAY!
  16. The LS9 sounds like a fun project. The only thing that might dampen the enthusiasm is the $22000 for the engine and controller. Gas pedal not included but needed!
  17. 26 is the hottest plug with a projected tip. 687 is a bit hotter without the projected tip.
  18. I might try a hotter one in #1 for now. What plug number are you running right now? Autolite is my plug of choice also.
  19. No idea Bill, Just something I wanted to do. I was pleasantly surprised that the hood stayed up without a prop.
  20. The hood is functional, I need to make an air pan.
  21. Put the engine in. Link to pictures in the modifiers section
  22. Got the engine in and fired up Also put the hood on. More pictures at engine build
  23. I clean everything with acetone, it gets all the oil residue off. A oil leak on the "china wall" will not cause a vacuum leak.
