    Site issues

Well I'm also having a promblem with this site taking a long time to load. but its only here. I have IE, has anyone got a fix for this yet? Also I'm having trouble posting a signature? I cant post ANYTHING cause its states its too long, even one word is too long? Anyone know whats up with this
  4. More likely than not, Not being able to get it to stop leaking is why the cooler was installed. At least thats why I bypassed my radiator altogether is cause i couldnt keep it from leaking. Hook it up and find out though
  5. Congrats!! Cant wait to see what my monte will run when i go, i'm really hoping i'll pull a 13 to start. can you post up your combo for us.. cam, carb, intake, trans, gears, etc
  6. Well I just got off that road that your on with spark plug wire. I dont think they make 45deg plug wire boots but i might be wrong. This is what I found 1) With 90deg boots on cast iron BB heads with hooker or even summit headers the boot will rest on the header flange no matter what---result does not work... 2) with the accel wires with the straight no angle boot (or 180deg) the wires will not be able to plug into cyl 4,6, and 8 because it'll be right on the header pipe or wont even go in cause its in the way. this is what I dealt with hooker comp header long tubes. 3) with the Taylor 135deg wires i found them to have the perfect angle and I was able to plug them right in all cylinders with no promblem. even on cyl 4, 6, 8. However even though they dont touch they are close and get pretty warm so I would throw some of those protective boot insulation covers they sell. heres a link to the wires I bought that work with Hei. they even come with an extra wire if have an external coil you want to use it. 7. Well I picked it up and this thing could not have weighed more than 15 pounds tops! I mean if you ever had to take off and put your on your steel hood by yourself you know that its a pain even with 2 people. I mean if the looks of this hood dont sell you when you pick it up that will. It feels like you could tossed this thing 25feet if you wanted too. I'll be taking of tour of his store soon and workout some kind of plan. Roughly he said it be about $875 but if I could workout some kind of group buy with deposits for like 10 hoods he would discount it. His concern is that he doesnt think their is a market for it, I told if he did it be his market. I even told him to consider making a trunk lid, it would work on chevelles and Monte carlos..So that might be in the works too...
  8. Well guys here are some pics of his newest make hood. This for the 70_73 camaro. Like I said i saw this hood on his own car and the finish and fit was better or equal to that of a goodmark steel hoods which i saw is pretty good. The fact of the matter is no one makes em for our cars and if no one pushes a maker i dont think they ever will. I've been talking to him and I going to take a tour of his shop which he invited me to. I'll take tons of pics and get some info
  9. Hey guys can somebody give me the exact placement of the SS emblems that go on the lower fender... I finally dropped the BB in so I think its time.. Maybe a measurement in inches of how far the emblem is from the edge of the fender
  10. I have also seen some crappy ones on BMW M3's at work so I was surprised to see his hood look so good.
  11. Well I met a guy showing his 70 z28 with the carbon fiber hood and trunk he's designed and I was very impressed with the product. I've seen several carbon fiber hoods on bmw's at work so I'm familiar with what a crappy hood looks like, but the quality of product this guys puts is amazing! His hoods look great even on the underside. I feel like an idiot for forgetting my camera and getting some pics but were gonna be talking soon. At the moment he doesnt have any plans for making a hood for the 1st gen monte cause he said he thinks their is no market for it...I told him about the forum and that fact that we have a crappy fiberglass hood avail and no one else who produces the carbon fiber hood...He told me if I could arrange at least 10 guys he would build a mold and make em' Price would be roughly $850 ....I'll be getting more info and pics to show you guys. So with that said who would be interested in a carbon fiber hood? And who would possibly like to be part of first 10 to own one? Also what would you prefer? Regular oem or one with a full 2-3inch scoop?
  12. Or you can just go to the junkyard and remove the complete wire from a truck that had hei. That way you get everthing from connector to the pin terminal. follow the power wire to the bulkhead..once there remove the the center bolt that hold conector to fire wall. You might have to pry the bulk head connector due to the sealant goo they use to keep corrosion out. once there simple you will see how to disengage the pin and remove the old resistance wire. then just slide the correct hei wire...SO much simpler and cleaner this way..
  13. I scored a 400 trans friday off a 68 impala Well now I have a few questions... 1) Tranny cooler lines/cooler-- oem or aftermarker? also who, where and how much? 2) Will the same drive shaft I currently have fit Or will i have to get it cut? My car orginally had a 350/350 combo... 3)also, is the yoke different for a 400? I was trying to take the u-joints out and just the front slip yoke of the driveshaft but i Couldnt get it out...I didnt buy the drive shaft cuz itwould be an extra $35 bucks..Or should I jusy go back and attempt to cut the drive shaft with a hacksaw or just shell out the money for a new yoke if available somewhere? thanks guys
  14. Well you can put an eaton lock right in there yourself in about 2 hours all by yourself. They run about $400. I dont about the gears though
  15. Your oem drive shaft will fit right on there. However the 700 is alot longer then your th350 so you will need to have the driveshaft cut. you might be able to just use the one from the fire bird
  16. From as far as I can remember I've always heard that your better building up a 200R4 than the 700... A ton of guys over on the chevelle forum say that the 200 built by hmmm I think its art carr will take the beating even from a BB... I learned that its better to just save the money and build once and right. After all swapping engines and trans in and out can get annoying. Well maybe just to me since I work on cars on daily basis.
  17. I use a prouct from 3M that you can find at your local autozone. Its intended to remove from headlights but I've used it on tailight lenses as well. It works really gOod
