  1. Dave thanks for the info. Sounds like something I will look into once I can start the upgrades.
  2. Looks good Dave. That should handle your power. At what HP or torque range do they recommend going to an Ultra Bell?
  3. I would be interested if my schedule allows. It would be great to finally meet some of you guys. I have met two Wisconsin members so far. Don't know for sure if the Monte would make it, longest trip it's been on is about an hour.
  4. Thanks for the info Mike. Does your webpage have the current setup of your car? It appears to be sorted out very nicely. Suspension looks like it is working great.
  5. Well it looks like this project is going to have to be put off for a while. I will definetly post with pics when I get to do it.
  6. Congrats Mike! That car is hookin' and the launch looks nice and level. Pics are very nice, is that your photographer or track pics?
  7. Thanks for all the info MG. I'm definetly going to go thru your album and check it out.
  8. Well my winter project for this year is to redo the rear-end. I will be adding a Tru-Trac, 3.73's, all new bearings/seals and possibly axles with c-clip eliminators. I heard it is better to use the shim kit instead of the crush sleeve for the pinion, do you guys have any opinion on this? Also was wondering if you can get an install kit that includes the shim kit or do you buy that seperate?

    engine

Jacob I have to agree with everyone else here. Work with your Grandfather on the engine rebuild and learn all you can. It's a memory that you will keep for ever. For me half the fun of these cars is working on them and learning all I can about them.
  10. Looks like it was a good time. Can't wait to see the show pictures.
  11. Congrats Davey! Always enjoy following your adventures and learning from them.
  12. NICE! Let us know how it fits and if it moves your wheels in or out in the wells.
  13. Have not tried them, but I am also interested. My tool guy came in with the kit and I was very tempted to buy it. Any input would be appreciated.
  14. Very nice builds! Your finished Monte is also very nice. I was just wondering why you chose the 69 for the convertible parts? Keep the up the great work, looking forward to seeing them both when done.
  15. Welcome Keith. Lots of great info there.

    In the 10s!

Congrats Mike! Looks like you got her dialed in pretty good. That's a good looking launch.
  17. Let me ask this question then. What should a stock 400 sb, auto trans, 2.73 rear Monte run in the quarter? I haven't had time to get to the track to base line mine.
  18. I agree for the most part Mike, but I also like the track. The grandkids are looking pretty COOL in the Monte.
  19. OOPS!! I didn't see that one and didn't do a search. Thanks Bill.
  20. I was at the 10 Wide cruise and match race over the weekend and it got me wondering who has the fastest MC, lowest ET and highest MPH, in the club. I believe there are some 10 sec street cars here aren't there?
  21. Nice! Thanks for the info Dave.
  22. Thanks for all the help guys. I went with 275's due to no mods needed right now. I will be taking measurments once they're on and go from there. Also going to be doing a posi carrier and c-clip eliminator kit this winter so I know the wheel position will be moving.
  23. Great to hear everything is going good with the Monte. Can't wait to hear the results at the track. Looking forward to following drag week. If you don't mind me asking what RPM are you turning at 65-70 mph? Thanks.
  24. Thanks for the input guys this all good info. I know I will have to trim a little and maybe even do some hammer work, I'm just trying to figure how much. Darren I have 5 inch back space so I should be good there.
