  1. I have a Richmond setup in my 72. My son in-law told me that I have whine in the drive train. After he found out it was a Richmond setup he told me it could be the rear end whining. I have no idea if he is right but he has been around hot rods and cars most of his life and knows one heck of a lot more than I ever will and he is only half my age.
  2. Hey Kenny it would be great to see another bright Red Monte at the Eastern Meet in Aug. RED IS BEAUTIFUL
  3. Yesterday the headliner got re stretched and the Morris Concepts 3 point seat belts installed. The trim guy told me after stretching they cut off an inch all the way around. It looks better than new now. Next project is the A/C
  4. Son in-law came over and we spent the better part of 7 hours installing the aftermarket Cruise I purchased 3 months ago. It works good and we both are very happy with the results. It worked as it should on the first try. Jamie is very meticulous about everything he does and I keep getting in a hurry. We compliment each other perfectly. Thanks to Andreas for his leading me to this aftermarket cruise. Tomorrow it foes to the trim shop to have the headliner re-stretched and the new new 3 point seat belts installed.
  5. Went to a car show in Brownsburg IN this morning and afternoon and the to a cruise in Avon IN. A good day to be Monteing for sure.
  6. Chemical Stripper but that can be hazardous. I use a grinder for the heavy build up being careful not to get the metal hot so it will not warp. The same thing with a sandblaster it can also warp the metal. I have seen that to many times so I rarely use a sandblaster on any body parts unless I go very easy with it. The sandblasting is good where there has been rust to clean it up but I usually use Rust Mort a SEM product. There are other types of rust convertors but this is what I am familiar with. It neutralizes the rust so the body work can proceed.
  7. Went out to start it and no go. Me thinks I need to replace the battery. It is 5 years old and was a cheap one to begin with.
  8. Great idea Larry and the flux capacitor is in opertion when the light are on.
  9. If I didn't know better I would have thought the tool box exploded You have that problem too? My wood shop looks like a hurricane went thru it. I used the wood shop to work on Monte parts all winter. I NEED to clean and straighten up really bad. I will get to it one of these days maybe I think.
  10. load leveling compressor for the SS cars and as an option on all others.
  11. No Larry it is not I who does the compressor brackets Sorry it is one of the other Larry's
  12. Well you have to logged in and that you are because you are posting. Hmmm it is a mystery to be solved by someone more web savvy than I.
  13. Cleaned it up and now it is ready for the first cruise in and car show of the season tomorrow at the Chesterfield Legion #408. I am so ready to show off my handiwork of this past winter.
  14. WHO ME????? LOL LOL LOL
  15. Take it off!!!!! take it all off!!!!!!!!! Oh we were talking about the trim on the car. Oppppsssss!!!!
  16. Take it to a pro you will be glad you did. I had to have a new cable put on my 72's 700R4 and after reading the instructions from the kit I bought I took it to a pro and it works better now than since my bought me the car last Aug.
  17. Thank you for the kind words Larry. That is about 2 hours of taping. I sure am glad the ones on the car are already done. It was very tedious and time consuming for sure.
  18. I would hate to put holes in my hood. With my luck it would rust and fall thru to the motor. LOL LOL
  19. Found a Rally Center for my spare. Only cost me $5, it is not perfect but for $5 I am not complaining. It will work till I find a better one or I could take one off of the car and switch it with this one. The spare will be more closely looked at when the trunk is opened at the car shows. Here are a couple of pix, one before and one after. http://www.firstgenmc.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=650 Now all I need to find is a smooth Rally Trim Ring. I think all the smooth ones are after market?
  20. I have seen that some where for around $150 I think. OPG is proud of their prices for sure.
  21. Austin are you going to have all four installed the same. Valve stem matching the tires in the same place on all four? Like between the OO's on Goodyear or Goodrich? A nice touch but it can seem anal to the installer. LOL LOL
  22. My 72 has a stock GM HEI with most of teh inards removed and an MSD box on the side. No problems at all.
  23. Got the new fuel pump installed and now have to go and get my 3rd fuel line. The first one I bent without the nut, the second without the nut but still had the other end. Bent it for the downward stroke toward fuel pump and the the second bend was backwards. So the third is the charm I hope but that won't happen til tomorrow. The honey do list got in the road for the rest of today. LOL LOL
  24. What is that white thing doin in the pix with consecutive year Montes. LOL LOL LOL
