  3. I met a guy that had a 15 year old battery in his 1957 chevy he just used battery tender and it charged it so every now and then and it never over charged. And now they make a junior battery tender thats water proof for boats, motorcycles, atv any thing that has a battery. ( not toys )or I dont think so but there neat tools that are worth the money think about how many batterys you could use in 15 years.
  4. I will try to find one around here thanks for the tips.
  5. has any one converted a coloum shifter to a horse shoe shifter before is it worth the time and money or should i just buy a car with one already. The only reason I ask is finding a monte with a horse shoe shifter is hard but I love the look of it. And I will have bucket seats in the car any way and would really be happy if any one knows about this stuff let me know. jacob
  6. My grand dad used to work on cars and trucks all the time he used spray cans of chassis paint on the trucks so Ill see if I can find some Or some simillar.
  7. Wow I will try that with my gun and I adjusted it so it its tight but not to tight and I messed with the how much paint it uses.My grand dad said the same thing about wetting the floor down I was also told that wet sanding would help with the the dust in the clear coat has any one tryed it?
  8. well I got it from harbor frieght but I keep my stuff clean also our garage has a cieling.Where do you get those fans from also I have seen those resperator mask but what kind do you suggest for fumes and painting?
  9. I got a brand new paint gun yesterday its gravity feed and is low pressure has any one painted with one before.my 30 gal air compressor runs it with no problem. It was 30 dollars and so far is worth the money I love that little gun.also has any one painted there cars them selves I dont have a paint booth I was wondering how you kept the dust out of the air and off the car.
  10. I found out today that summit racing has uv and oil resistant chasis paints but there 10 dollars a can and 3 to 5 are needed for a chassis. but its better than a couple thousand for powder coating it. Also dose jacking the car up hurt the paint any ( craking chiping).
  11. paint or powder coat I like powder coats but its expensive and you have to have an oven to bake the parts in.Paint on the other hand you dont have to bake its less expensive but flakes and its not as durable as powder coats are.

    cam break in

I calculated my compression ratio is 9.47:1 so i can run pump gas and i could run also run raceing fuel too right not like 118 but 105 or 110 octane right.any way I have read 2 books on rebuilding engines i read cover to cover and have found a summit racing kit with cam, 62cc clyinder heads and timing chain and gears included .And a dual plain intake manifold lifters and I had just wanted to know if I could run a thaumper cam with that kit and I will not have a tiny cam I like the rumble with alot of power also I will be runing a holley aluminum streat avenger carb(its five pounds less than an ordinary carb.) jacob
  13. hi i just wanted to say a holley streat avenger and a k and n air fillter will serve you or any one well.k and n air filters allow more cleaner air to your engine that running it with no air filllter and catches almost all the dirt dust and what ever is in the air. And a holley carb is a easy adjustable carb and a newer aluminum streat avenjer is out that is 5 punds less than ordanary carbs.
  14. hello my names jacob I just wanted to let you know about the carpet carpet cutters are used for cuting the carpet and you just cut where the roll bar is right.so tou can have carpet in your car and a roll bar by the way roll bar padding is at summit racing and its only a few dollars hope I helped.

    cam break in

whats the largest roller cam possible and dose thumper cams make them? also can I run a roller cam with hydrallic lifters and summit clynder heads? or do I need to have a summit cam and clynder heads. Jacob
  17. If I were you I would go with mandrel bent exhaust its a smooth bend for the least amount of back pressure theres two other types of bends but mandrel is the best.for all out sound 2or 2.5 inch exhaust is good but if you really dont care about sound just performance 3 inch. And for mufflers glass packs have a 40 percent increase in flow than stock but are really loud and the larger diameter the better.
  18. If any ones looking for 11inch drilled and slotted brake rotors for only $31 each summit racing is the place to go and there for a wide range so there not just for your monte carlo. And there having holiday sails soon so get them while there hot and ready. jacob
  19. I would do the 8 inch corvett ralley rims that way you can put as mutch tire on there as you want. If you like the classic look. serching for a 1972 monte Jacob
  20. Dose any one love a deep classic chevy rumble with good power behind it? I know I do one ride in my nieghbors car and I feel in love with big cams and heavy feet my car will get them both my sise 14 shoe will cover that gas pedal pretty good. And I am only 13 so I know driving my blue 72 will be pretty coll. when I can afford one only about 5 or 6 thousand left to go.
  21. well for my understanding you should be able to have any sise you want but I would call the group that makes the headers and they should be able to tell you right away.or the recomended sise hope I helped some.
