  1. I have mine mounted on top of the glove box (under the dash pad). I have not experienced any noise and I like it hidden there. I also took the unused wire from the box and grounded it through a switch for additional security. Now whenever the car is out of my sight I can flip the switch disabling the ignition. It would take a would be thief quite some time to find a way to get the car started.
  2. I'm running a detroit locker with a 3.42 gear. The locker does it's job and is bullet proof. I'm also running a SBC and believe a 3.36 might be more highway friendly. With that said I am planning a 200R-4 upgrade with my current gear ratio that should make the car highway friendly. BTW, when the locker engages it's like running a spool...both tires hook/spin at the same speed.
  3. That's exactly what I used in my 72 (4 core). I had no issues with fit and it seriously helps with the cooling. That is an awesome price too.
  4. I have been running the Flowtech Afterburner SB headers for the past 8 years with no problems. The collector does not hang lower than the deep, cast aluminum trans pan I am running. They have a clean appearance and provide ample space to reach the spark plugs. Summit link: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/big-49100flt/overview/
  5. While I cannot speak to the Q-jet results; I have had good results with Holleys. It really depends on the engine set-up and I have found them to help on the top end for the most part. They tend to help the velocity of air entering the cylinders. Normal street cars would not show much gains.
  6. I would have to agree with Mike, with a 327 (.030 over); 600, maybe 650 holly DP would work good with an Edelbrock air gap dual plane.
  7. I've been researching the hydraboost set-up for my 72 Monte. It sounds like the way to go for all-round better feel and performance. It is a little more expensive but I'm hoping it is worth the extra $$.
  8. I'm running a 350HP/350CID with TH350 trans and 3.42 gear w/detroit locker and Moser axles in a 12 bolt. The gear is a great compromise on the street and turns around 3100RPM @ 70 on the highway. The locker can get a little tricky in parking lots and tight turns...posi would have been a smoother choice! The set-up has held strong for 5 years with the occasional 175 shot of N2O at the track. I only get around 12MPG on good days...that's the downside.
