  1. A 2400stall is really nothing more than a stock convertor, as other have said need more info
  2. If it is heating up as quick as you say I think its a cooling issue. How does the water look flowing in the radiator? It might need to be slowed down to cool better so I dought a Hotter Thermo will do anything other than make it run hotter since it will be closed longer before opening... the water needs to be slowed down if it is running too fast through the rad. I know some motors used to use restrictors in the Intake gaskets to slow the water down so not sure if this is the case with you guys.Another thing is if the intake water neck is higher with the aftermarket intake it wont get enough water in the motor... Just a few ideas to keep you thinking
  3. I will be trying a set of Trickflow 320's here in the very near future
  4. Thats what I am thinking, what do you think would be good for a 468 I need to get info so I know what route togo.
  5. Yes you are correct Sam they are Factory GM Aluminum Heads
  6. Guessing the spring pressures are just too high for these heads...they have been races head for almost 40yrs and just must be fatigued and just cant handle the pressure http://sschevy.carillon.net/DSC00181.JPG http://sschevy.carillon.net/DSC00182.JPG http://sschevy.carillon.net/DSC00184.JPG
  7. I found my vacuum leak will post a picture later when our server lets me upload the pictures
  8. My exhaust exits there and I used regular round tube pipe .I just put the pipe in a vise with blocks of wood and sandwhiched it dow to the look I was wanting........Mine are right up against the frame and I have no issue whats so ever with clearences while driveing. My car sits a few inches lower than a stock ride height so You wont have any issues there but I will say this cruising down the Highway with the windows down will pull fumes into the car so just be aware of that.
  9. No convertor isnt setup for spray so that could be a route to look into
  10. Hey Cali I was running a 5.14 with 33" tall tires and for Spray it was too much gear so I dropped down to a 4.30.My trap RPM on motor dropped to 64-6500 on motor from 7200ish.The thing is the car still 60ft.'d mid to low 1.5's same as with the 5.14's but I went from 123-4mph to 120mph...... didnt think it would rop off that much and thought I would lose some ET but gain MPH
  11. Its not like the rear is locked at all times anyways so I think you will be just fine....
  12. Hey TN454 I will actually be up at Norwalk the 6-7 of June for Pinks All-out.So I wont be around Quaker. What are you coming into town for? Well made 6 passes and teh car was consistent as usual...I am pleased with how the car ran for a 74*+ day but was expecting a little better..On Motor the car went 10.90's@120 and on the spray went 10.03 &.05@131.I am not sure if I took too much gear out or not will have too wait and see how the car runs at Norwalk in 2 weeks at PINKS.Thats the first time running at Quaker ever soo I really dont have any numbers to compare it too.I have run a ton at Norwalk so I will know more then.Car should of MPH better than it did so going to check a few things out and see if there is another issue going on I am not seeing. LOL BTW The day started out with a curve ball LOL got to the track unloaded the car.I then drove over for tech then made a cruise though the pit area to warm the fluids up.I get back to the trailer and go over some things before I make the first pass when I notice the driverside ET Street is going Flat!!!!!!!!!!! I ran into Autozone and bought a Tire Plg kit and plugged the tire LOL I was told I was nuts for plugging the slick/DOT tire but it held and I went 1.40 on my 10.03 pass that thing was leaving like a SOB but had nothong up top so I will figure that out soon If there is any video I will post it up
  13. LOL now you jinxed me .... I broke some welds loose on that pass
  14. Headed there Sunday for a test and tune.WIll be trying out the new gear to see where it helped and where it hurt.Should be a GREAT DAY! mID 70'S
  15. 1).....you can probably still use your oem lines and stuff if you want that would be up too you 2.)....... It will have to be cut when switching to the TH400 3)..... Yes the yoke is different from a TH350 to a TH400.I would just buy a yoke and I believe it will need an inch taken out of it
  16. I have ran one like this for 15+yrs and have never had an issue with heat in my trannies.I had a 4200 convertor with my SmallBlock and the car seen alot of street driving,I now have a 5200 convertor and still no issues with heat and its mounted pretty much like Kc has his mounted

  18. LMAO no its Teal Green not Blue but thanks anyways
  19. Yes will try and hook up here over the summer for sure, mine is finally alll back together just little things to tidy up.My tranny guy is probably 30-40 min drive for you and he is located right off the freeway
  20. The guy that does mine here in Akron will build you a good reliable piece if you are looking for some one.He does mine and 99% of the time i only pull it for freshening up.He builds 200r's for GN's and I think is reasonably priced.Just throwing that out to you Bob.
  21. I am sure I will hit 42 up sometime here in the near future
  22. I would think if you are footbraking ,no transbrake, I think they will probably work fine.Nothing is bullet proof so with tha being said go with the solid u-joints and you should be ok
