  3. From what I can tell in the photos on this page, it appears that they are the flatter center. http://www.firstgenmc.com/tech/custom.shtml

  5. George was one of the members I was really looking forward to meeting in the Carson City meet last week. When he didn't show and we didn't hear anything from him, I was worried that something had happenned to him since he was so excited about coming. I had just hoped my thought wasn't a reality. If we can get some photos of George himself and his finished Monte, We can make a tribute for him on the main page.
  6. I'm pleased to announce that there are now 7 people confirmed for the meet!
  7. It's too bad you couldn't make it Pete. You got me all excited for nothing . Maybe next year.
  8. I'm bringing a small cooler for drinks and snacks myself. A larger cooler might come in handy but I have run out of space. If we each bring our own small cooler, that should work.
  9. Our thermometer says 94 also. It's much hotter than normal in the Northwest. The temps in Reno for the next week are between 96 and 98 degrees.
  10. I know that there is a guy from the Sacramento area entertaining the idea of going to the meet. The panaramic camera may come in handy too for a shot with all 3 montes in it together. I'll be bringing my digital as well.
  11. I just got off the phone with the organizers of the event. The race tickets: They will only be handing out tickets to people that are in the Montes (registered in event) doing the parade laps. I will not just be able to ask for a bunch of tickets. So, whoever wants to see the race will have to be in one of the three Montes. If there is only 12 of us in total, it shouldn't be too bad... as long as George and Wallaby don't mind having folks in the back seat of their cars. If some of you have more people in your party, it might be harder to do and we may choose a different activity for the evening. Another option for Saturday is to do the parade laps at the track and then head over to the party at Virginia City. This seems like it would be the best of both worlds. We still may need to cram all the members in the 3 registered cars for the cruise maybe. We can work that out when the time comes. If we discover that the race thing seems too complicated to do, we can just do the Virginia City deal. Both options are fun and, either way, it'll be a great night. I also asked about photos at the track, she said that there is a place where a couple of us can get out and take photos of our Montes driving around the track. Two weeks from today, April and I will be heading down to Dave and Janet's place to start the trip. Looking forward to it!
  12. Well it looks like there are 6 members confirmed for the Western Meet as of now. Myself David Mau George Lines Wallaby Dick (new member) Cameron (new member) There are also others that are considering it still. I tallied up the votes on what activity to do on the Saturday night and... We're goin' racin'! We will be doing parade laps around the local race track and we will also get to see the stock car races that evening. Talk about a great photo opportunity with our Montes on a stock car racing track. Dick is an avid photographer so we should be able to get some nice shots (no pressure Dick. LOL). If I recall, Dave likes a little photography himself. I can't wait! If there is anyone else coming who has not notified me yet, please let me know. Thanx Meet Info
  13. Update The details of the itinerary have been worked out and are now on the site here. It just seems to get better and better: http://www.firstgenmc.com/04meetwest.shtml For those members that are not entering a car in the show, I will still be able to get you tickets to the stock car race on the Saturday evening, but I will need to know how many that you need before the event. Please let me know as soon as you can. If there is someone coming to the meet that has not notified me yet, please let me know. Thanx.
  14. Yes Dave, it is the same Monte. I finally got a chance to chat with him this year. It's a nice car and he's owned it for almost 20 years.
  15. April and I had a blast. Here are the pictures as promised. http://www22.brinkster.com/montepictures/04PCBC.htm
  16. All fixed now. Thanx for bringing it to my attention. When I first made the page, I had a calendar that actually had no July 31st and the rest of the year was all screwed up in it.
  17. It certainly was HOT. It was 104 at the race track and we didn't have any shade. April went and sat in the shade under the grandstands during cautions to cool off. The races on Saturday and Sunday were great. I just love the sound of those engines in person. WE had fun at Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios too. Here's my post about our trip: http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002858
  18. Announcement Exciting news! On the Saturday evening, we will be doing parade laps in our classic Montes around Champion Motor Speedway in front of all the fans. They are looking into getting a vintage police car to be the pace car... very cool! Also, we will get free tickets to see the stock car races that evening! This is open even to those who are not registering a car in the show. The updated itinerary is in the Western Meet Page
  19. Wow! I want to thank you for starting this club. There is no friendlier or more knowledgeable group like this on the web and it's all because of you and your vision. I know it must have been a tough decision because this club is your baby. I know it would be if I was in your shoes. I have a lot of respect for you as you admit that you can no longer commit the time needed. You are putting the club first to making sure that it carries on to it's full potential. I'm sure Pete will do a great job to oversee the club's growth in the future if he accepts the President position. I'm sure Pete can be a chisler and cheepskate too. Thanx again Kevin for all your hard work over the years getting this running!
