monte70car
A few weeks back our 2000 Silverado blow a metal brake line going to the rear brakes. Yesterday we were able to get the line replaced but it don't have rear brakes. System didn't go dry nor did we replace anything ahead of the ABS box. Is it just a matter of pumping the brake pedal over and over until the pedal gets hard or does it need to go to the Chevy dealer to get fix? footballubet
When you bleed it do you get fluid out? Take the lid off the master cylinder, fill it up, leave the lid off and open both rear bleeders. Let gravity help you. Keep the Master cylinder full as it bleeds out. Once you are getting all fluid out the back close the bleeders and pump the brakes and open the right rear bleeder. Bleed the right rear until it's all fluid then do the same on the left rear. Hopefully all the air will work out of the system. You may go through several bottles of brake fluid until it's all out. If you still don't have brakes you may need to take it somewhere that has a Tech2 scan tool to activate the valves in the ABS module to get the air out. Good luck! monte0
In the past on troublesome systems like yours I've jabbed the pedal a few times quick and fast with the bleeder open to get things moving(and yes you will get air in the system but it sometimes makes things move again which is what you want). Then you bleed regular from their to get the air out and if not then tech 2 is the next option
