Tall spindle or tall ball joint ?

Recommended Posts

Anyone can help me figure out what's the best setup to improve the front suspension of my 72 ? Should I go tall upper & lower ball joint or just tall lower ball joint ? Does tall spindles have the same positive effect ?

Thanks for the help !

I'm surprised no one has responded to your questions yet. About a year or so ago I was going through the same questions myself. I can't remember all the research that I did but I seem to remember that the tall ball joints and tubular a arms will provide the same improvements in your steering geometry. I chose to go with the tubular a arms because that way when the ball joints do go bad I can use stock replacements. The tall aftermarket ones are good bit more money. Plus the tubular a arms look cool

Call mark at SC&C. He was great to deal with. He talked to me on the phone for almost an hour about what was right for me. He wrote the book "how to make your muscle car handle". It was a great read. I went with his tall ball joints and spc adjustable upper arms. I can't wait to install them this fall when it cools off here.

Thanks Daryl !

Yes tubular arms looks cool but unfortunately cost a lot more than ball joints frown

Tall ball joints seems to be the best bang for the buck, I 'll start with tall ball joints & poly bushings on my stock arms.

Hey there Shnalla. I went through the same debate. Here's a thread on what I found.

And here are some pics of the installation.
