Tobias Thonet
Hey everyone Alright so when I joined the forum late last year I said I was going to start a thread that followed my restoration for everyone who was interested, so, here it is. I'm not sure how the uploading pics thing will work so bear with me on that.
GatorDog72
What are your plans for it? Going racing?
Tobias Thonet
So basically I gutted the interior, not like there was much in it anyways. (1) Once that was finished my dad and I wire wheeled out the surface rust, so that we can fix the pans, and later coat the whole thing in epoxy primer. We also took the dash out but I don't think I really have any good pics of that.(2) Before we wire wheeled the interior though I coated the frame in epoxy primer and some 'rust proof' paint, we'll see how well it actually performs. The bluish stuff on the control arm is the rust proof paint, can't remember the name of it.(3) I got the whole undercarriage, although some hard to reach spots have been neglected. I'll get those before I put her on the road.(4) That's about it for now, I had to close up the garage because of the cold and having to go away for highschool, but in a couple weeks I'm going to head down again soon and start hitting you guys with the updates I'm thanking everyone in advance for all the questions, and thanking everyone whose already answered a lot of my posted questions P.S. I'm having trouble with pics so I numbered the sentences and I'll get some photos to correspond when I figure it out, thank you guys , and yeah I like my smileys :)
Tobias Thonet
What are your plans for it? Going racing? Not dragging, I'd like to get into Pro-touring, well I mean I'd like to set it up as a pro touring car, I'd probably like to get into autocross, but that's way down the road, right now I'd just like her on the road for my junior year

420ponies
So, Just what is "the blue stuff"? It looks like it is coming along nicely. looks better than what started off with.the rear pan under the rear seat was toast. so a new pan was put in. And also, what epoxy primer/paint are you using? I was using DP 40 and DP 90 from Dupont on my frame and Herculiner on the underbody (to protect it ).

I don't really remember the name of the 'blue stuff' but when I get back to the shop I'll be sure to tell you. For the tub I'm going to use Eastwood primer, same as what you'd paint the body with. Unless you guys know of a better type of epoxy primer?
