Before your jump into hacking your dash, check this out:

I was VERY close to give them an order until I found the pillar post gauge pods from Autometer

JEG'S has 1 set of 1.5" guages that look like they could be adapted to fit. They have

different combinations of oil, water and

temp. you would have to call them and figure

out what you want. They mount in the normal

way guages do. They are black with some indicator coloring. They look good.

Did you buy the auto Meter Pillars? If so how well did it fit to the pillar and what about the passenger side, as they do no longer match, I am just curious about the cosmetic appearance.

George...I looked on the jeg's site and the smallest gauges they list is 2 1/16". Do you know where I could see a pic?????</font>

At the time I answered this site, I was looking at an older JEG'S catalogue. I'm looking at their latest cat. and am no longer finding a 1 1/2". I suggest you call them to find out. They may order for you even if they don't show them. 1-800-345-4545 I was thinking about doing this to my own Monte. I already have a set of 1 1/2. I'll check them out and see if it can be done with my parts car I just got since the dash is already tore up. I'll get back to you ASAP. Maybe Friday

Checked out the idea of using 1 1/2 guages in the dash today. Not a good idea. It could posibly be done, but I'm not going to try it. Way too much work.

could somebody who has one of those autometer gauge a-pilar gauge pods tell me the measurements where the actual pods are located on the pilar. im asking cause i have my tach mounted on the a-pilar but it is located very low on it and i didnt know if you could still mount the pod without moving the tach.

Check out the pics on my website and judge for yourself...:

The pod could be shifted up a bit more on the pillar, but the gauges will not be on eye-height anymore... smile.gif
