Will
Hey guys, So I just snapped my second TH400 bell housing clean through today. I thought the 468 broke the original because there was too much power. Then had a TH400 built the was supposed to handle 800hp. Less than 100 miles and it snapped clean across too. Anyone know of anything that tends to be the culprit here? Or do I just need to beef up the bell housing?
Sam (Bones)
what engine and transmission mounts you running weak mounts could be the culprit

Sam (Bones)
I have never broke a trans case and I put mine into the 10's, but I did use solid mounts
dbreese
I cracked my bell housing on my Th 350. The culprit was a bad motor mount. I was in the process of having a bigger s/b built so I had my transmission guy install a JW Bell. With the new mill installed many passes at the drag strip and lots of miles no issues. Been almost 5 years. Solid motor mounts and stock rubber transmission mount. David
waupachino
I went threw several bell housings on a 350 Turbo before installing a JW Bell. They are much thicker then stock. Another thing to look into is installing a Anti Roll Bar. This will keep the frame from twisting on launch, which is more then likely the culprit to your broken bell housings.
