72-CLASSIC_RIDE
Hi all, Been working on my rear tail light wiring harness by replacing it. In the process, studying the wiring schematic, the ground wire from the harness that attaches to the trunk catch with a screw shows from the schematic to be 2 separate ground wires where mine feeds those from a single ground wire? The OEM harness removed and is identical to it's replacement leads me to believe the schematic is not accurate. Refer to 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle, El Camino & Monte Carlo Service Manual Section 12-72. Just curious................. Doug
monte70car
Doug I know the newer harness I've done I tied the grounds together so it only has only point and cleaner look. Base on the schematic you posted each side as one ground wire to the catch as the others are tied together probably within the connection at the tail light. 72-CLASSIC_RIDE
Yeah, had figured that out but was wondering if the schematic was essentially a error. Can't imagine two types of harnesses used. Doug
