Damon32v
Hey guys. Purchased a 72 Monte Carlo this last weekend. It has a 350/ 350 in it. It needs more power. I'm completely new to carbed setups and just not sure where to start. I did order longtubes already. Stock exhaust wasn't cutting it for me. I've been eyeing different intake manifolds and new carbs for now. Id eventually like to throw a set of heads and a cam in later on. What do you guys recommend? Thank you! MC1of80
Hey Damon. Without changing the cam I would install a performer rpm and a 650 dp. This way when you upgrade cam you won't be spending money twice. Aluminum heads will make it better. I also recommend an msd distributor and 6al. The factory points leave alot on the table. Doesn't sound like you want to keep it looking original so I would start there.
Paul Bell
Welcome Damon! I suggest you consider a Holley or Fitech EFI unit instead of a carburetor. The only down side is upgrading the fuel system. But in the long run, it'll run better in all conditions than any carb ever will. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sne-550-516/overview/ https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fif-30002/overview/ https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aei-18102/overview/

I think I want to stay with a carb though. My other project is a newer car with efi and I'd just like a simple carb setup on this one.
