420ponies
Sold my rear axle " thinking" it was a 3:42 gear. Come to find out it is a 2:73 gear. Need to make it right for the man I sold it to. Thoughts? Can't find a gear without using a spacer ( yuk), . I thought Richmond made a 3 series gear for the 2 series posi. I could have sworn that the pinion turned 3 times before the tire came back to the the same position. My Monte was doing 70 mph at 2,200 rpm with a 26" tall ( 275) tire. If anyone has what I need, give me a shout. He' running my 420 hp sbc/200 4r in his hot rod pick- up. Thanks
Scott S.
Series 2 carriers fit from 2.73 to 3.08 ratios (aprox), Series 3 fit up to 3.73 (aprox). The housing is still the same, but the ring, pinion, and carrier will have to be matched..... And depending on the housing size, there may not be a lot of parts available anymore. ie., the 8.2".
