cudax
During my rebuild I added a TCI (P/N: 399473) flexplate. Now, after my install the flexplate holes are approximately 1/16" off from the torque converter. Basically, the holes are a little more than 3/4 exposed/lined up but not enough to get a bolt started. Previously, I had a decent flexplate, not as thick, but had no issues with the holes lining up. Anyone ever run into this problem? Thanks, Mike
Sam (Bones)
I learned the hard way too, so now I always test fit the torque conv to flexplate, I would send it back, but that's me push the conv against the flexplate (flush) and see if that helps, if not, I would pull it apart
cudax
Thanks Sam! I did stroke the motor to a 496 but I don't see how that would affect it.
stangeba
Not this brand, but we sell flex plates as part of our trans adapter kit for old Chevy in line sixes. Tom must inspect each flex plate and rejects a very high percentage for being out of spec. He has tried different suppliers but found the base manufacturer is all the same.
