RichG
According to the assembly manual, it is mounted on the right hand side of the glove box. The hole is 9/16" diameter. The center of the hole is 6 21/32" from the back of the glove box and 2 9/32" up from the bottom of the box.

502ci
Those sure are some exact measurements... Make sure you get them perfect, I've seen judges whip out their pocket rulers and check the glove box... Sorry, I couldn't help it. Good to get such an exact answer when looking for help... Toppless72
I thought it was pretty good too! I was just looking for the general neighborhood so it would look stock. We’re talking dead on now! Thanks again. Joe
RichG
The assembly manual and 1972 version parts books are very handy for solving the technical questions!
72Ragtop
While the glove box location may be the "correct" location, I found having it there a pain in the @$%. Over the years in various cars, I've added or relocated them to "just up under the dash", on the drivers side, so it can't be seen and I can reach in with the window down and open the trunk. The are two versions of this switch, a "large" diameter and "smaller" diameter, which I think was used in the late 80s & 90s. Also, you can actually have two functioning switchs, one in each location.
