ssmonte70
These are black corner pieces (plastic) that go on the outside by the weather stripping near the upper part of the window for a better seal to keep out wind noise. How are these installed? Thank you--Troy
ssmonte70
Did some checking on the internet and found out how these "blow out clips" are installed. Troy
stangeba
I removed them from my 71 because they were rusty. I haven't had a problem with the windows up at 70 MPH since removing them 20+ years ago. I think they were riveted in place. Bruce
ssmonte70
Thanks Bruce, You are correct they were riveted way back when. The one's today are actually "melted" on with plastic tabs using a solder iron. I think if the weather stripping is in good shape I'm finding out that these are necessarily needed. Thank you-Troy
stangeba
GM would have saved a ton of money if they could do with out. I haven't seen a problem but I only drive on nice days with the windows down.
