Newb
Can anyone help me out? I'm converting my 72 from a column shift to a factory console and I purchased the tranny cable bracket from opgi and I'm not sure where it mounts to the tranny? Leghome
Mine is mounted to a couple of the pan bolts. My 72 is in the shop right now so I cannot tell you which two bolts they are. After everything is mounted top side and the cable is hooked to the tranny linkage I think the location could be found.
footballubet
It will just about fall in place on the trans pan bolt holes.
Newb
I figured that but the one portion of the bracket did not sit flush into the recessed portion of the oil pan and I wasn't sure if that was normal.
Heff
Not 100% sure but I think the bracket is different for a 350 vs 400 trans. maybe that it?
Leghome
I know the bracket is different for the 700R4. At least my Shiftworks kit looked different.
Toppless72
Heff is correct. The brackets are different for the 350 vs. the 400. The shape of the bracket is different and the bolt hole spacing is different too.
