  3. road trip to leo's next month
  4. Sorry the piece i am referring to is the structure beneatth the taillight panel that the bumper mounts to...according to leo i have to mate tbis section with my chevelle one piece trunk..mine is rotted beyond belief
  5. found out today the hard way that the 1 piece trunk I bought in the fall (chevelle) will not fit in my car..after a chat with Leo Konnik it looks like I will be doing a 9 hour round trip to the lovely state of Michigan to fix the boo-boo...unless anybody from Oshawa to Michigan has a donor piece available from the rear tail light panel to the bottom of the trunk...ouchy
  6. oh a wise guy eh? nwuk nwuk nwuk...this is now a small problem compared to the one I am facing now... I am thinking a whole lot of compressed air at one end and a shop vac at the other...or just leave it there...lol
  7. O.M.G....I am finally getting to replacing the whole trunk with a 1 piece that I got from a local parts supplier last year. So, it's sort of in place when I notice that the one piece is NOT lining up at the rear where the trunk latch locks onto..Upon further investigation my trunk is for a 70 chevelle...ARGGGG In the catalogue at the top of the page it lists monte carlo/chevelle..well only some parts are for montes...most are for chevelles...I am about to pull what's left of my hair out!!! the catalogue is for gold leaf which supplies A.M.D. ...Sooooo does anyone know of a company that does entire trunks??? Pleeeaaase say that you doo thanks
  8. finished welding in the floor/rocker combo and cut out the entire trunk, and now sits the new trunk dry fit ,waiting to get welded in too..a good day, with no hospital visits
  9. Does anyone have a special tool or way to get the paper roof crap out of roof supports when scraping this stuff off of the ceiling..you know where the roof meets a support there is 1/4 inch gap then the paper falls into this little awkward unreachable space...sorry didn't get time yesterday to figure out photobucket
  10. today I will be mocking up the floor/rocker combo for the big install...making a sandblast box....and painting my hydroboost that I cleaned up last night...then try to figure out how to make this photobucket thing work...big day
  11. Thanks Aaron..just have to do some further math to make sure I am cutting enough back on my new 1 piece floor/rocker and trunk replacement to install a larger tire
  12. Hello all....I was just wondering... to all that have replaced the wheel well trim...on my re-pop quarters there is an inner lip that measures1 1/2 inches from outside to inside... On the aftermarket trim, how much, if any, wheel lip is left (how much of the lip does the trim cover)...This info would be handy for me so I can trim a little off, to get a larger tire installed, or just leave it be... thanks a million Bill
  13. this weekend I removed the ENTIRE floor and rockers...and mocked up my rims n tires to see the look...nice...trunk is next
  14. that would be awesome Bruce...p.m. me if you wish...thanks
  15. YES we get boned on all parts.....I have all of my parts shipped to the Niagara falls border U.S.P.S. and pick up a bunch at a time...I had a classic performance parts master cylinder (mcpv-1) sent to me at my house and it cost me an EXTRA $95.05 in "broker fees"..WTH????...Now I just take a leisurely 1 1/2 hour drive pick up "some" declared parts ..others not... lol teehee...have some cheap lunch at Bob Evans and smile all the way home...oh a bottle or 2 might stowaways on this juant too
  16. Hey Mario !!! THAT is exactly what I am going to do to mine..nice that I am able to see the end result, does look very nice..I have mine at a supply store being put on now..going to do my inner fenders as well......Nice to see more montes popping up around the G.T.A. that's 5 that I know of and are all members here too
  17. any link to this kit???...thanks
  18. Cory..I was looking to do the 376 also...but by the time you add in the wiring harness,,1k extra...an electronic tranny plus wiring harness the traditional motor appealed to me more..then I just went out and found a 454 instead of the 350!
  19. serious lack of room???? lol...I've been working on my car in a plastic portable garage shelter in my driveway through out the winter..and it was a cold one this year...wish I was as far ahead as you are...cheers
  20. WOW after reading the first 2 VERY helpful responses and then the pathetic retort I held off to see what others would say.....my response would have ended up showing "you said a naughty word" about 50 times If you are going to have that kind of attitude sell your car for parts then or go pound sand No matter what the question on the boards here... they are answered quickly and respectfully and offer any other advice to the question as others may need additional info. Some members I have found have answered the same question several times over without saying "look for it yourself" in the search area. I sincerely doubt there will be an apology from this "member" and any further help will not be offered..hope its your last post. "And that's all I got to say about that" F.G.
  21. lol not even one survived...some were thin as a pencil lead...those were the good ones...but 3 inches is a good start...thanks
  22. while we are on this subject my body mount kit did not come with bolts..what is the correct length for the bolts..thank you muchly Bill
  23. 1) yes its the correct size 2) haven't swapped out gauges YET 3) I haven't seen a post on the process but many here have done it..Andreas is one that has...that would be a good how to post
  24. yes Robert that is exactly the kit I am looking at however I have found spindles cheaper..not sure if they are off shore but I do like to buy north american made and will spend the extra to keep $ in our countries. Rodney I am adding a hydroboost which will enhance any braking system even the single piston caliper. just keep using your search engine and read back posts in this forum and you will learn more about about what others have done to their projects..bottom budget and sky high budget. I have literally spent months reading post after post and members are more than willing to help...even if its the 100th time they have given the same advice
