  1. LOL...... Here is a direct link to both videos..That darn geocities is a pain, but it is free.. http://www.boomspeed.com/mc71454/incar_1086_Sept2103.wmv http://www.boomspeed.com/mc71454/1082_Sept2103.wmv I need to set up the camera again in the car. I will for Super Chevy at Maple Grove in July..
  2. Thanks Mike...There is a bunch of info on my website... http://www.geocities.com/mc71454/TOM.html
  3. Thanks... A list of my combination is on my website...I will update it tonight to show AFR Heads replacing my Canfields. I haven't run the GN, it is setup with alcohol injection 42.5 injectors 2003 Vette Brakes, stretched intercooler, GNX Wheels, etc. You can see pictures on my website. And it is For Sale - $14,500 http://www.geocities.com/mc71454/TOM.html
  4. Did some fine tuning and ran some new bests today.. RT - .027 60 ft - 1.453 330 ft - 4.198 660 ft - 6.543 mph - 104.17 1000 ft - 9.593 1320 ft - 10.340 mph - 128.69
  5. Thanks !!! It looks great !!!
  6. Thanks for the replies... Any ideas on where I can find some? I like the blacked out look across the back but it would look funny without the other mouldings. I have a 454 emblem on the right side colored in black in the rear where the SS would go if it was an SS. The chrome and the blacked out area would look pretty good. Thanks !!
  7. Is the top chrome trim above the black SS Stripe along the rear of the car the same as the bottom trim pieces below it ?
  8. Front BS Use 4.25(Stock) to 4.5" For the Rear you can go to 5.5" and if the rear is exactly centered in the chassis you can go 6" BS but it is getting very close to the lower shock mount.
  9. Wow, I just looked at how old this post was... What were the results ????
  10. You will have no problem getting an 11.99. In reading through your combination, the only setback you may have is the converter. A converter that will flash at 4000+ will net you another 1/2 second in ET assuming you are getting the drag radials to hook. The lowered fron suspension isn't the hot ticket for weight transfer, but your goal is 11.99, not 10.99. Go ahead with the 3.55's, I used those exact gears in my '71 a number of years ago with less cylinder head in a 468, performer RPM, pump gas 10" converter, holley 750 and was running 11.40's.
  11. I run a 9" Transmission Specialties Converter with a Mechanical Diode (a special kind of sprag). It is a race converter that flashes to 4400 behind my motor. Works flawlessy everytime around $700.
  12. Hey Guys, New Hood last year after that pic was taken I had a mishap and the 2" cowl took to the wind and is mostly spider shattered. I wanted to get another 2" Cowl, but Glasstek doesn't make one and I wasn't going to get one from the vendor I got the 2" from. So hence I have the 4", I will get a 2" as soon as a good quality bolt-on hinged 2" is available.
  13. Big J, Thanks ! Are you coming out to Lebanon Valley this weekend ?? Hemmings Muscle Car Muscelpalooza is on Saturday..400+ show cars and 300+ racing..Incredible good time. I will be showing my GN and racing my Monte. Do you ever make it up to LVD. Tom
  14. Left off two of the factory brackets and then cut the remaining two brackets to line up the mounting holes and then re-weld them to mount to the factory slots in the frame. Next they were "swiss-cheesed" to end up with brackets that weigh 13 ounces each, yet have the stiffness that GM design provides. I had to hog out the holes for the directionals and drill and file to a square the holes for the bumper bolts. A lot of work Cost The cost of this whole thing was quite a bit from the cost of the bumper itself to the preparation of the raw bumper to fit my turn lights, body work to smooth out ridges, pinholes in the fiberglass, sanding sanding and more sanding, shipping and then fitting it. For lack of time and I despise body work, I paid to have most of the work done. The only thing I did was cut and fit the turn signal lamps and drill and file fit the square holes for the mounting bolts. I did a lot of initial sanding, but left the final fine sanding to experienced body people. Total cost about $875...I did it over a few years. If you do all the body work, final sanding and fitting and installing you can get by with about $500 including buying the bumper. BUT it took 28 lbs off the front end. I am installing an anti-roll bar to get the car launching straighter. I will likely be running in the 10.40's tomorrow night and expect 10.30's by the weekend with some little fine tunes to do on my new AFR Heads.
  15. Here is mine, putting the lights in today http://www.boomspeed.com/mc71454/chromedbumper2.jpg
  16. I will ! Is it a good swap meet, If I do not do well at Rhinebeck I will absloutely be there. If Rhinebeck goes well I will skip it..either way I will let you know.. Thanks
  17. Sounds Like a Plan.. Swapmeets - Rhinebeck NY, Dutchess County Fairgrounds - May 6. Bristol CT - May 7 Put the headers back on last night. I have some new fully CNC'd AFR Heads and was worried the headers were going to hit the frame..Nope, they fit better than they did with the Canfield heads
  18. Hey there.. Yes, you need to use their axles... I will be there May 3rd for a T&T and then I have a track rental on Friday May 5. Swap meet on Saturday May 6, and another one on May 7...What a busy week next week... Are you going to make it up to Hemmings Musclepalooza on May 27 ??? I will surely be there.. Tom
  19. Thanh, I use the Mark Williams Kit. Installed it about 5 years ago. Very easy install and no leaks...
  20. Nice Ride Sam... Hey Thanh, what is your race schedule this year? We need to meet up at LVD this year...
  21. Here is an Excel Spreadsheet that will calculate the Valve Spring Pressure of any spring when you know the Height and the corresponding Pressure at two points. It will also calculate the maximum lift of your Cam at a particular installed height if you know where Coil Bind is. The factor of safety used for Coil Bind is 0.060” and can be changed if desired. http://www.boomspeed.com/mc71454/mc71454_spring_rates.xls Right Click and “Save Target As” Please Inform me if there any problems with it. Thanks
  22. Andrew, A 15x10 with a 5.5" BS with a 295/50/15 tire will likely work. That's what I run for a street tire in the back and a 215/70/15 in the front has a nice stance to it without getting too narrow in the front. I like it to still handle decently and our Montes are pretty heavy in the front. I can measure how much room I have to the fender lip with the 295's on there and let you know tomorrow. Too bad you couldn't make it over to my house and try on one of the wheels. here is a pic from the back.
  23. Check out this pic to determine BS.
