  1. Yep, got the clips with mine. Very nice anniversary gift! Thank you!
  2. Wow, just received a banner in the mail for, I'm assuming, renewing my membership! That is pretty cool! Thanks so much!
  3. I heard that the Flowmasters have a lot of resonating or droning noise. How do you guys like them? I will be running a 3 1/2 as well Sam.
  4. waupachino, sorry I guess I missed your response to my problem. I have accel 8.5 wires, but I am looking at getting some different ones because I don't like the yellow. I See your link for Firecore so I will check them out, thanks. Also, Its more of the #4 & #6 plugs I have the clearance issues with.
  5. Cudax, I can get at the spark plug and I have a socket I can use for the plug but I can not get a spark plug wire boot in the tight area between the end of the plug and the header tube.
  6. I have Hooker Comps on my big block and they fit fine. The O.D. is just under 2" on the primary tubes, so is that what you would call 2"? Anyway the problem I am having is that I can not get a plug wire boot to go on the #6 plug. The header tube is too close to the end of the spark plug. I have Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads. Does anyone else have this issue?

Looks great! What kind of plug wires are you running? Headers? Are those the factory heads?
  10. Does it hurt to put them on the bottom? My springs fitted so loose on the axle taht I put the rubber isolaters on the bottom too. I have not driven the car since I put them in so I don't know if its an issue or not.
  11. I did your option #1. I have not had the car running yet so I don't know if I have the lines routed correctly. My lines went from the trans to the top of the cooler, exiting the bottom of the cooler to the top of the radiator and then out the bottom of the radiator back to the trans. Not sure if this was the best way to run the lines, but that is the way I have them right now.
  12. I think big block cars got the round control arm bushings and small blocks got the oval.
  13. Very Nice!! Can't buy one right now, but hopefully in the future I can get one. Are there different colors available?
  14. I talked to Steele Rubber a couple of years ago about these. I sent him a piece from my weather stripping so he could get a good look at it. But he said they couldn't do them at that time. Maybe now if they see there is a small demand for them they will do them. Put me down for a few sets.
  15. I should have thought of that! Thanks Sam! Dave
  16. Thanks........that would be hard to tell if the fluid is at the top of the pan, wouldn't it?
  17. No I don't have the original dip stick. I don't have the original tube either. I installed a flexible braided tube. Maybe I should try to find an original tube and dip stick and install it on my trans to get my fluid where it should be. Then put the new pieces back on. Thanks for you help!
  18. Hello everyone, I am restoring a 1970 Monte Carlo with a turbo 400 trans in it. The trans was completely rebuilt using a Coan 2800-3000 stall torque converter. I am also using a B & M Supercooler trans. cooler. I have also installed a new Milodon trans dip stick. I read in my service manual that a dry trans will take 11 quarts of fluid. I put about 1 quart in the torque converter before I installed the trans to the engine. The question is, how do I know if I have the correct amount of fluid in the trans? I need to mark the level on the new dipstick, but I don't want to do that until I know I have the correct amount in. Did I put enough fluid in the torque converter to begin with? and if not will the fluid circulate into it after I get the motor running? With the new trans cooler I added I'm sure that will increase the amount of fluid I need to put in also. I also rerouted my trans lines so that will effect the amount also. Any info/help would be great! Thanks, Dave

    SS 454 LS6

I saw an article in Muscle Car Review (March 2000) about a Supercar reunion. In that article they showed a small picture of a 1970 LS6 SS Monte Carlo that was built by Dick Harrell. The owner at that time was someone named Tim Pestinger from Saline, Kansas. Has anyone seen this car or has heard of other COPO Monte Carlos? I don't know if this car was legit or not, I just happened to see it in the magazine. By the way, I'm finally a member of this club. Just signed up last week!
