  1. I have some good pictures of what I went through fixing my Monte. With the vinyl top on, you could not see a problem. The vinyl top was in great shape - it appeared a previous owner tried to cover up the problem instead of fixing it. But it appeared that the interior below the rear window had a water problem in the past - that was the only visual evidence of a problem. Once the vinyl was off, and the window was out, I found some extensive rust damage. It's been documented here - take a look. http://www.katuszonek.com/window.html
  2. Where did you get the replacement quarter windows? I've been debating replacing them too.
  3. Iceman, I don't recall seeing the Z20 stamp on my passenger door when I had the panels off a few years back. Thought I might have taken some pictures of that work but can't seem to locate them. Are you replacing the quarter windows too? Mark
  4. I have found Mothers to be the best for any kind of chrome or aluminum.
  5. I put the Patriot headers on my Monte too. I recall having a bit of a problem with the wiring for the starter being real close to the header and I had to reroute it. I had to modify those headers due to the aluminum heads on my GM crate ZZ454 (bolt heads have a very high profile. That was the only modification I had to make.
  6. No. It is a mirror opposite of the lower.
  7. I had mine out awhile ago, cut the lines and left them in place until I ran the new lines so that I would be able to get it right. I will have access to the underbody to take a picture later next week if you still need help. Mark
  8. Two questions for anyone that may know. My 71 power steering unit has a four bolt mount but the frame only has accomodations for three of them. Was wondering if that is the way it was done. Also my unit has in large raised letters "76" towards the front and near the frame, bottom side. 2nd question - anyone out there send their power steering box in to have a quick ratio setup installed? If so, was it worth the $300 to do it? Any negatives to switching to quick ratio (like normal street driving comfort)? I like the idea of the variable ratio (higher between 10 and 2, lower when turning sharply. Mark
