  1. Scott, Are you back. If so, give me a call, I have some information to share with you but if you aren't back I don't want to bother your fun times of vacation at the beach with this junk. Rob
  2. Steve, You are the first guy I am aware of that has admitted to checking out my butt. I just don't know how to respond to that. Rob
  3. At Breakfast on Sunday Morning Jim Bozcar brought in a couple newspapers..... The Carlisle Sentinel from Saturday..... Right there on the front page is a picture of the GM Nationals... Wait a minute they took the picture from the hillside right above where we were parked on Friday and they zoomed in our... you guessed it our cars, canopy's and yes you can make out the FGMCC Banner mounted in the back of our canopy's. Jim gave me a copy of the paper for my book and I found one at the restaurant and gave it to Steve L. When I got home I showed it to Pat.... She is an Assigning Editor at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Pat looked at the picture and said "You're in the picture... I said are you sure and she said......... "I'd know that butt anywhere" Of course she knew what clothes I packed to take with me may have given it away too.... anyway, I tried to find the picture on the newspaper website to post it here but could not find it. Rob
  4. Dave, I noticed the same thing about the NY Monte's Group and even the Impala group that were staying at our hotel. They all bench raced in the parking lot in the evening and were both great groups of people. But the FGMCC were the last ones in the parking lot on Saturday night/Sunday Morning before going to bed so "WE WON" the bench racing. rob
  5. I just want to make one comment. When you pull into the show field and Capri pulls her car next to yours, move your car before the judges get there. They will look at her car and then when they get to your car they will just laugh at the fact you wanted yours judged. I knew whan they pulled up next to me on Saturday morning I may as well remove my judging card from the dash..... JK Capri and Greg, I was proud to be on display next to your car. otherwise I would not have some great door props now. The main problem is wipeing the drool falling peoples mouths off my paint after they turn from their car to mine..... I include Greg because even though the Monte is not is favorite he babies that baby like noone else. Rob
  6. Boy, you could have used that jacket this weekend, huh.... but only if you were sitting in Mike G's car on the way to the restaurant. rob
  7. Congrats to you all, display them with pride. Rob
  8. What a great eamil.... Thanks for sharing it Capri. Rob
  9. A lot of great posts here, just a few comments and quotes from the outing..........the quotes may not be totally accurate but close: Capri, it was my pleasure to take Drake on a few little side activities.... as someone said "Rob must be missing the grandkids" It was great to have Dan there, espically early in the morning or later in the afternoon when the sun was streaming into the canopies from one end or the other. We just had Dan stand at the end to provide us with shade. "Old Man".... not directed to me "Shutup Pinky"..... maybe Dan's new nickname, he is lucky we already have a pinky here. "I'm not talking to Capri, I am mad at her for not being here, she was supposed to keep Dana company".......... Steve when I told him Capri wasn't coming (before Capri, Greg and Drake hit the road to join us) "You're under arrest".....this was with a gun pointed in my face....the quote was from Drake "Those weren't origional were they"........... What someone asked me regarding the light monitoring system and two tone paint on my car "I hate to ask but would you look at my car to give me an idea what is wrong"........... Brian to Steve regarding a noise coming from the drivers side engine compartment Anay bets on if Steve turned him down, I think not "What a great family we have here"......... Stated by many different people "I was presented with a Red Line Award"............. Dave Reem, I also received one "Where is Scott?" "Where is Jack?" "Where is Mike?" "Where is Bill?" there were other poeple that people wanted to know if they were coming too. there were others but I really need to head out to work Rob
  10. I've never seen anyone hide their excitement as well as you did in your post. If it were me I would have let people be aware how excited I was. Congrats. Our members really did us proud at this meet, espically in the bench racing department. We were the last to give up the ghost on Saturday night...actually it was close to 1:00 Sunday morning when we called it a day, I guess we just didn't want it to end. Most important was it seems everyone made it home safely and Greg and Capri got some sleep Saturday night. Rob Rob
  11. I am betting he is asking 9-10K Rob
  12. Dave, Please email me your home address so I can get it into the mail. email me at rpeters6@its.jnj.com Rob
  13. Congrats to the following FGMCC Members who won awards at Carlisle: First Off, Congrats to Jim for having his car selected to be placed in the Show Barn for Featured Cars. I had the pleasure of being his chauffer this weekend because Jim DROVE his car from Ct and was without wheels all weekend. Class: 1970-1972 Monte CArlo First Place: Capri Blasco Second Place: Gerald Munday Third Place Tie: David Schenk and James Stead. All Years Monte Carlo Modified: Frist Place: Not one of our members, sorry I didn't get the name Second Place: Dave Reem Thrid Place: Steve Levanti I picked up Capri's award and presented it to her before they hit the road. I also picked up Dave Reem's award and will mail it to him sometime next year after I have proudly displayed it on my front seat for this year's cruise season..... Just kidding, it will go out this week. Steve Levanti picked up his as did Gerald Munday. If David Schenk and James Stead are not able to pick theirs up and had not arranged to have them sent to them Jim will try to pick theirs up before he leaves and mail them out too. Thanks to everyone who made the trip and made this mini-meet a huge success. I think the final total of cars who made it to the show field in the 3 days, including Jim's in the show building was 20 or 21, what a great turnout considering at least 5 or 6 of us attened the Eastern meet just two weeks ago, What a GREAT FAMILY. Rob
  14. Don, To the best of my knowledge, these were a 70 Monte item only and then discontinued after that. The main thing that causes them to go bad is moisture gets into the center around the screw holes and causes the metal to rust and swell. I worked with mine and the holes were enlarged due to deteriation. I cleaned them up as best I could and then reattached them with a large washer. Since it is only the outer 1/2 inch that shows if you can get that part looking nice just do the best you can with what you have. If they are totally unusable check with Leo, he would be the best soruce. Rob
  15. Tony, It was great seen you and Alli again and not bad to see your car again too. It was good to talk to Alli again about your possible Christmas list.... boy are you in for a treat. Thanks for posting the pictures but no thanks to you I am not in bed yet because I felt compelled ot look at your pictures. JK.. This is one of the few meets my camera has been there but somewhat inactive. Over the past two days we had 20 members Monte's here at Carlisle.... Make it 21 because Jim's car has been inside the special show barn and not on the show field. I would like to personally thank everyone who came out from the club, espically those who had just attended the Eastern week in Sanduskoy Ohio only two weeks ago....Special Thanks to Greg, Capri and Drake for coming on shuch short notice after the Eastern Meet and all of her hard work to pull that off. Brian, Greg and I just left bench racing..... we were the last three idiots hanging in the parking lot, we just can't believe the weekend is windiing down and we will all go our different ways tomorrow morning or afternoon. Rob
  16. Dave, the number is 412-298-2645, waiting for your call at bench racing
  17. I hope to get on the road around 6 tomorrow morning and arrive around 9 to 9:30 if all goes right and I don't need to make too many potty stops. I am trying to get the GM Nationals to provide us with a large canopy/tent to gather under. Rob
  18. My count was one off... It is really 14.. 5- 70's 5- 71's 4- 72's We need one more 72 to have 5 of each year. Rob
  19. Sorry but I don't have any pull to lock that forecast in. We will just have to keep our fingers crossed and make the best of what we do end up getting. See ya all in about 4 days Rob
  20. I just checked the forecast for this weekend's Carlisle GM Nationals. Friday Sunny High 90 Low 70 Saturday Sunny High 90 Low 71 Sunday Possible Scattered Showers High 92 Be sure to bring your sun screen. Rob
  21. Looks like we are up to 14 cars and I have a PM on another one that may be coming from someone who needs a room... Steve, I told him to contact you. That would make it 15 and sounds like a great turnout, I can't wait
  22. Keep them coming guys. I may wait till early or mid next week to let them know we will have this many First Gen Monte's from our club. 11 as of right now, good job everyone. rob
  23. Dave, if it is Monte's Rock shouldn't it be Rick's Rock?... Now we are going to have to have a T-Shirt made up that says Rick Rocks to go with our Monte's Rock. rob
  24. I think most of us are staying at the same hotel so we will all be staying and hanging with the NY Monte Club. If you can bring the 70 it looks like we will have 10 or 11 Members cars there. Not a bad turnout. rob
