  1. Welcome aboard Jerry. Nice looking car! Lets see under the hood.
  2. Welcome aboard Marilyn! We are here to help when you're ready. 😎
  3. Thank you sir! The exhaust system is 304 stainless steel. I have exhaust clamps for the tips. I just put them on for the picture and will wait until I get the body and rear bumper on before I fasten them on.
  4. Thanks Dennis! I've got a few minor things to do then off to find somebody to paint the body. How is your motor coming along?
  5. Here's my YouTube channel link if you're interested in seeing more details. www.youtube.com/channel/UCGhqxV8-mifypi9-8g9E_aA/featured
  6. Nice car! Welcome aboard. Let's see under the hood. 😎
  7. Wow that is super clean! I am assuming that you tack welded the clip on the under carriage?
  8. Hey guys I'm getting ready to install my o2 sensor for my Holley Sniper system and am trying to make it look clean. I'd like to install it on the passenger side header (see pic) and run the cable up the transmission but am not sure if there will be enough clearance since the body is off the car. I know that there will be a few inches considering the body mount bushings but am not 100%. American Racing Headers do tuck up higher than most. Thoughts?
  9. Thanks for the info. I ended up getting thicker valve cover gaskets and they seem to fit now.
  10. Welcome Kade! Nice car. 😎

    New guy here

Welcome Tom! Lets see under the hood. 😎
  12. Does anybody make 8.5mm spark plug wire holders that fit on the stock brackets?
  13. Welcome Bert! Do you have any pictures of the car? P.S. I too am in the middle of a frame off on a 71 SS454.
  14. Thank you all! It was the converter. I unbolted it and turned it a few times and it went all the way in. Now on to getting the driveshaft installed.......... TBC!
  15. Just for reference here's a pic of the flywheel.
  16. Check this out guys. The flywheel looks pretty tight. As an FYI my bell housing is an aftermarket unit.
  17. Thanks Dennis I'll try that.
  18. When I installed the converter I stood the transmission up and rotated the converter until it dropped in. I then lined up the tranny, bolted up the torque converter and tightened the bell housing bolts. I guess I'll pull it apart again and check things out.
  19. The motor was turning fine. I turned it to install the torque converter bolts but now for some reason it's not turning. Maybe it's on a compression stroke. I'm just afraid to break off the crank bolt so I'm not getting too crazy with trying to turn it. I plan on hooking a starter up to it. I'm wondering if it might be in gear. In regards to the driveline I've pulled them out before and put them back in with no issues. However not with a fresh rebuilt transmission. I'm thinking that maybe the tolerances are too tight?
