Thanks and the marriage license were approved at that age. With the parents signatures.. was a simpler and less stressful time indeed. We just knew what we had to do to survive. Work. Back then there were no freebies. And we were better off for it .

Measuring shows 6-7 here , not 4, still nothing like you guys are contending with. But pretty much shuts this area down with the zero temps headed this way. It’s pretty, but I’m pretty much ready for spring as well. 🌞

BTW, I understand you are in London, ky. I’m a little further north of you in Paris ky. Be sure you try and attend one or more of our yearly meets. This year’s Eastern meet is in Carlisle PA. If you have any questions on how to sign up and attend, I’ll be glad to help. Also, next year’s eastern meet will usually be a little more south of PA. Check that out too. She aged better because she was the 16 year old. Back in the day in the country they were considered an old maid if they didn’t marry before 18.. plus, one less mouth to feed for them , out of 8 kids.. I was around 19 in that picture and undernourished. Boy has that changed!!!

Today marks our 53 wedding anniversary. On a cold snowy Jan 16th day , I said yes after she asked me to marry her :). Just kidding… we had 20$ between us but by the grace of God , clawed our way thru . She’s been a blessing to me all these years , almost as much as the 71 Monte :).. kidding again. But that is the reason I’m partial to the year 71 Monte. The year we were married..

Took out the seats to have them upholstered, but a 325$ sidewall hole truck tire put the damper on that . So I just cleaned them up , took the opportunity to put the console side trim on and re installed. Not bad shape anyway. And wasn’t a priority..

Temp 15 this morning. Wind chill zero. In central Ky. Only to get worse this week. Down to zero with wind chills below. Forecast 7-10 days below freezing. Not much snow forecast tho.. . Laid back in the recliner in front of the wood stove.. ahhhh this is the life!!!. But I’d much rather be out driving the 71 ! 😫

I would toooo!. Haven’t seen any of those , luckily. Or in the Monte either. But I haven’t had the oil pan off the 71 either.. but I change the oil and filter regularly..

So, my wife car, a 2016 Buick encore , bought new by her, having had the oil and filter changed religiously by the dealer on time and mileage . wants me to change it for her since I have the car lift now. No problem, but I find an oil filter in the engine that I believe there is No Way ! It has been replaced last two or three oil changes by the dealer . Pure black!. Replacement is nice straw broom color. Picture down below of oil filter cartridge I took out. Am I wrong in my assumption ??? Input please. Thanks , Ron…
