Great weekend at the Good Guys at the Texas Motor Speedway. I didn't win any trophy, but by the number of comments I got from the crowd, it's apparent that there are a whole lot of folks out there who love the First Gen Montes! The track drive at the end of the day is always a blast, too!
I got mine from OPGI and they work perfectly. I did, however, get original GM springs as recommended from other threads here. And, oh by the way, getting the springs on the hinges will be an excellent opportunity to practice swearing!
I have one that's in pretty good shape. Just a coupla small cracks. I changed my whole interior to black, so I won't need it other than for some garage art. How about $75. plus shipping?
Well, that explains a lot . . . My new Goodmark springs worked for about a month and then petered out. Thanks for the info! Now do you have any tips on installation? My use of a floor jack to extend the spring and then fill the spaces with washers until installed was kinda exciting to say the least!
I have had my new Chevy Colorado Z71 for about 3 months now. Great truck! The V6 has plenty of punch, the steering is tight, the ride is firm but comfortable, and, unlike the full-size trucks, it is much easier to drive and park. I have only positive things to say about my truck, and a great value. The only downside is that it's not as much fun to drive as my Monte Carlo!
MC1of80: You da man! I had a broken cable, so I cannibalized it to make a drive cable on my drill, like you said. Moved each side a bit at a time, so it wouldn't bind and got it moved forward like a champ! If I get to NY anytime soon, I'll buy you an adult beverage! Best, Jeff.
Need some help guys! I went to start my bench to buckets conversion today by removing the factory power bench seat in my 70 M/C. The motor (or switch, or mechanism) hasn't worked for many years and is stuck in the most rearward position. Thus, I cannot move the seat forward to access the rear mounting bolts. Is there a way to manually move the seat forward? Or some other removal trick I can't see here? Thanks in advance for any guidance!
First post here guys. Great info with y'all! I'm looking at doing a rear disc brake conversion, but do not want to have to weld tabs to my rear axles to mount the hard line to flex line junctions. Is there a package out there that has a bolt-on tab or some other option? Thanks for any input
