If we don’t find out by tomorrow morning I will try to find out where it goes. I’m pulling heater core and have fenders off as well as windshield out so I should have an answer pretty easily. ( famous last words)
I’m trying to find these things and need to know what they are called.
UPDATE: they are called Pillar Post Weatherstrip Retainer Clips
they are riveted inside the chrome roof rail weatherstrip channels. Top of door glass closes onto them. 2 per side.
Door glass retaining clips did not get me there. 😟
I can plasti-dip these originals if I have to I guess. but was hoping to find OEM replacements and can’t search it unless I know what they are called.
Thanks for any help.
I ran across this recently.
not a big fan.

Man I remember dealing with that. But it’s been a few years. I know someone will have the answer. If not I’ll look tomorrow & let you know. I’ve got dash pad off but I’m not where car is today.
I’ll post some factory assembly manual pages
Real deal classic chevy mechanic tells me I don’t need to remove dash.
I changed blower motor too.
I currently have car apart for painting & was told to change it while it was apart.
the videos I have watched vary on dash out or not.
When I was ‘discovering’ the lower back glass rot issues a good buddy was with me in the shop. We took out the glass & as it became apparent that it was bad, he said “Typical of their sickly breed!” And he was damn right.
