  1. Thanks Dennis. I didn't realize when I took the car apart for paint that there should have been more bracing than just the center! Too much of a hurry to get it to the shop.... As I'm putting it back together it just didn't seem right. Looked in the assembly manual and see that I am missing them!
  2. I need right side rear bumper bracket, and both outer braces.
  3. Figured I would show my solution to the shifter bracket. The B&M bracket is L shaped, with the 'foot' facing forward. I lined up the rectangular attachment holes and welded the stock bracket to the B&M bracket. The park, neutral and reverse switches on the column all operate with the floor shifter. Still had a full nut on the threads, added a dab of blue locktite as well. I did have to adjust the clamp connection on the column downrod to make the lock rod fully engage.
  4. B&M Megashifter, it was brand new for $150. Built my own console. I'll start a build thread shortly.
  5. Agreed, that's my plan. I found the trans bracket part # 3945488, but as yet not found one. If anyone has one please contact me. Once I have the car home I can eyeball what I have along with the B&M bracket and possible modify to make it work.
  6. I have a situation similar to Whons, except I'm using a B&M shifter. My 72 is scheduled to come home this weekend after 5 months getting metal , bodywork & paint. It's my under standing I can run the column switches for park& neutral start as well as reverse with the existing control rods. Looking at the assembly manual I believe I can adapt the stock transmission bracket to the B&M cable. The B&M shifter supplied switches will only allow start in park, and operate the reverse lights. Question 1. Is the factory transmission bracket for a column shift car the same as the bracket for a console car? Question 2. Regarding the column shifter, will it remove by simply knocking the pin out, or do I have to pull the wheel and dig deeper into the column? If I'm understanding some of the earlier statements, the shifter will still be locked until the key is turned, and I'm fine with that. I anticipation of some questions, here's a pic of my MC fresh out of the booth, not yet buffed. Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic.

    mini road trip

Impressive mileage, what is your rear gear ratio? 350 motor?
  8. Brand New AMD left quarter panel, sail panel cut off. Had to replace my left sail panel which is only available with the full quarter.
  9. Very cool, I have the same Chucks in white with the orange flames. Would love to get some of those decals!
  10. Pic 13 shows a front lower trim, I'd be interested in a right rear if you have one.
  11. Thanks, I have the rest of the trim clips I need, don't need the $70 set, just need four of these. I may have found some on one of the facebook groups.
  12. I need four of these clips that hold the rear quarter trim that covers the running light.
  13. Thanks. I got the shifter mounted so I could build a console for it and fit between the bucket seats before the car went to paint & body. I've not as yet gone under to mount the bracket & connect the cable. I'll look at that connection when I get the car back. Can I just pull the column shift lever off, or do I have to go inside to release what ever latch is engaged when you pull the column lever back to shift into gear? Guess it may be more obvious when I can get under the car and start moving things from below. That sure would simplify safety start wiring if I can run it from the column switch.
  14. How did you do that? I'm installing a B&M megashifter in my '72. Is there room to leave the mechanical rod from the tranny to the column in place along with the cable?
  15. Yeah, that was something my metal guy shot as he was turning the car around. Car suffered the curse of the vinyl top, parked outside for some time. New roof, quarters (left side the get the sail panel), right wheelhouse, right trunk drop-down and filler deck. Old roof donated sheet metal for front fender and rear panel patches. Windows and trim fit perfectly! Car went to the paint shop Wednesday.
  16. Yes it does. Just put one from NPD on my '72. Needs some trimming at the sail panel connection. Roof5.mp4
  17. Chevelle roof is basically the same, just bought one from NPD for my '72. Good luck if you need the sail panels.....
  18. Thanks guys, I did connect with Scott on FB and got the info I wanted. Even though the handles themselves are available new reasonably, he recommends finding doors to get the inner panel mounting bracket.
  19. My '72 is about to go in for body & paint. Has anyone used Pontiac Grand Prix door handles? Other than fitting into the door skin, are there any mods necessary to the interior of the door to make the latch work?
