march uses the type 2 power steering setup here is the march setup on the nomad the a/c is on the passager side alt is on the drivers side with the power steering pump under the alt.

the 400 uses a elec kit down stwich that is mounted on the gas padel. the wires might have come unhook either on the trans or on the stwich. u can still get the stwich here is what it looks like part code is ATE-2101 price is $26.95 from www.ss396.com

depends on the length of the tail shaft. my 700r4 has a 6" tail shaft so i didn't have to drill any extra holes in the frame. but the cm should end out in the holes that already drilled in the frame.

any drive shaft from a 350th car will work. the 350th yoke is stronger then a 700 yoke. but ur question hooter has been bought up before and depending on what ur tailshaft is on the 700 could be different then others. the 700 i have in my monte has a 6" and i used an old 350th drive shaft. another member here put a 700 in his that had a 9" tail shaft and he had to shorten his shaft about 1.5".

this post has been talked about for a while though i would make it happen. post sound clips of ur monte with exhaust infor and if its a big block or small block. last sound clip of the monte its a big block gear drive with the american thunred exhaust 30's mufflers and turn down tail pipes. its 2.5" from the headers to the tail pipes

i had a 350 behind my big block it was a 396 with 325hp. i then put a 400 in behind the same motor and other then the trans been geared for a truck it still had power. as of today i have a 700r4 behind the same big block but the big block is now puttin out about 390hp. jared not to call u out on what u wer sayin about the 350 been stronger then the 400 but why was the 400 the only auto often on the ss 396 and 454 chevelle?

chevy is replacing it, they had to order one as they didn't have one in stock should see it back by next week.

the chevy dealer said the trans went out in the tahoe went south

well it went to the dealership this morning and it has the 100,000 mile warranty.

ill find out more when they get home they were an hour out

hopefully some one can answer this question (scott) parents r on there way back home from west virginia the trans in the 07 tahoe is actin up on them. they lost overdrive and if they got to slow down dad has to downshift any ideal on the problem?

when i did the trans swap in my monte i was able to leave the h-pipe in place to get the 400 out and to put the 700r4 in and thats even workin with the heads still bolted up to the motor. also the two h-pipe systems ive put in the h-pipe sits behind the trans i do have a pic of the elkie with the body off and the exhaust ran if u would like to see it.

im not worried dave motor will look good in the engine bay

tom the 4l80 is computer control for shifting i dont know how much hp u r planin on puttin out but for a 100 bucks i wouldnt go with the 4l80e. if im not mistaken the 4l80e didnt come out in 92 maybe its the 4l60e which is a 700r4. i run a bowtie overdrives 700r4 in my monte which can handle 450hp they do make one with will handle 600hp. i dont believe ur 400 converter will work with either the 700r4 or the 4l80e. u also might want to think about a less of a stall for street use, and i would change the converter so u dont mess up the new trans.

ur welcome david when flowmaster came out with the super 40's they caned the 30 seriers which i have on the monte. the nomad got detal 40's and the elkie got 40's on it

david u remember when u bought ur american thunder kit? i bought my in 98 or 99 and it came with the 30 series the newer kit comes with super 40's and super 44's
