  2. well it doesnt look like i got enough rtv on the drivers side passager side aint leakin a drop now. i hope the rtv comes off the intake gasket good. here is a pic of it half apart
  3. hopefully we didnt mess up the gasket went ahead and put the rtv sealer on the intake gasket. found a nick on the head that the intake sits on.
  4. the single panel that we raned on it for since 2001 never leaked.
  5. sealer on the threads didnt work the water is comin out from under the gaskets. probably pull the intake back off later tonight if not tomorrow . scott u think it will be ok to put the rtv around the water jackets? i checked the gaskets that was on it last week and its coming out around the o-rings. its a 355 vortec motor with a vortec tpi base plate. right now im opened to all ideals as this is goin on to a three year project. the vortec heads r 1996-1997 if that helps any.
  6. scott its a fairly new intake bought it in nov. the heads been on the motor since 2001 which at that time had an single panel intake on it which didnt leak. maybe my torque wrench aint any good already broke a bolt last week, and today broke the inch pound torque wrench. on anything project. looks like i will be pullin the intake tomorrow sometime:( i step forward two steps back keep this up the single panel and 600 holley might find its way back on the motor. im headed to the chat room.
  7. i have the gm vortec intake gasket's. i also have the rtv on the front and back chain rail so ill wait for the water to go bad and take the bolts back out and put the rtv on the bolts and see if that helps any.
  8. need help on this i got vortec head and a vortec intake i got water pourin out both the front and back on each side. affird to torque it down any more and brake a bolt off. the only thing i didnt put on the bolts was thread lock do u think it would make any differents??? or should they have plumbs tape on the threads? this is goin on a week project now with the same thing from last week.

  11. looking for a 30 amp circuit breaker which mounts to thw firewall.its used for the power windows if anyone know where to get one at?
  12. hi Jaylene from what ive read mike might have to big of a stall for a stock motor. a fairly stock motor should have about 2500 stall. with a 3000 stall u have to get it to idel alot higher. as far as the shifter he might need to adjust the cable. u could also ask trans shops in ur area about the size of stall needed, ive dealt with 700r4.com out in cal on my trans they r very nice people.
  13. i dont know what size tire u r runnin but if it a 26" tire u need drive 15 tooth and a 41 tooth driven. if u go to 700r4.com and click on the speedometer calculator.

  15. i got a factory small block tach which will go where the big fuel gauage is at now.
  16. when i painted my monte last year i used a ppg expoy primer, then put hok sealer over the ppg before goin on with the hok paint. when we paint the el camino it will have a sealer under the base coat as well.
  17. tony here is a new crossmember for a 700r4 trans 700r4.com . it should be the same for a th350 since i used my stock crossmember when i put the 700r4 in my monte. u might be able to get one made at a welding shop as well. we(me and my dad) made one for his nomad and another one for my uncles 56 belair.
  18. hooter i got a 2500 stall in my both 700r4 i have one is behind a big block and the other is behind a small block. 3000 stall might be to big my uncle has one in his 56 chevy, for it to move in drive he has to incress the rpms up to 2000 rpms just to move in drive.
  19. mark u bought the same intake thats on my monte with a q-jet and a carb spacer. the air cleaner is stock chevy just dont know what model.
  20. i got a eddy pro intake on my mark. with a 2" carb space with the hood on, the air cleaner is tight against the hood.

  22. on my monte i have tuned headers which r full length dont know who made them since they were on the car when i got it in 95. its either the drivers side or the passager side that is about 4" shorter then the other one.
  23. where would one(like me stock fuel tank) run a return line to? i have a summit elec pump the older style that takes -6an fittings. my pump is loud goin down the road, would a piece of rubber quite the pump down since its bolt though the trunk.
  24. what do u call a early production??? b/c my was built feb or 70 and it has the chrome under the headlights and a full hola top trim.
