  1. I had just got back from camping and without much sleep when I posted that. Well I just woke up from my needed nap and reread what I wrote... Actually I have 140 amp powermaster with a internal regulator...
  2. I have it and it works great with the stock radiator...I have changed my radiator since to a Be Cool and now it is even better. I put a 200 amp alternator in before I installed the fans so I can't comment on how it would work with your 78 amp one. You don't have to but you might want to install an overide switch so you can turn it on whenever you want. Bill
  3. I used to leave mine in auto mode and let it shift itself into overdrive at the preset 45 mph but the last few years I have had it in the manual mode. With my steep 4.11 gears I like to kick it on manually at 35 mph seeing how I spend alot of time driving at that speed around town.
  4. COOOOL! What rear gears do you have? Does your control module shift the gear vendors back out of overdrive automatically when you are manually shifting your cars transmission into the next higher gear? The older models don't but I heard the newer ones are now capable of this. Bill

    Overdrive

Yeah the gear vendors is alot of $$$... But you can throw 1,200 hp at it and it will be fine... It can even be modified to handle more. It only uses 1 hp for every 400 hp you have to operate it...the most efficient overdrive out there. Bill
  6. I don't know if you have heard this but from my understanding a cutlass from similiar years makes for a good convertible conversion onto a monte. Bill
  7. They are but I think the filler neck may be different in length..."my" filler neck on my newer tank is shorter than my original tanks was, but I can still put fuel in with no problem.
  8. As it was mentioned...yes. With my radiator removed I was able to install (removal would be the same) the motor, the tranny, and an overdrive unit all assembled...vehicle was not jacked up but tranny crossmember was removed and installed after. Using a engine leveler and being able to tilt the motor is helpful if not a must.
  9. Without me putting a gauge on it I would say it is roughly just over 3" at the widest part. I would go no steeper than a 3.73 gear but would suggest possibly a 3.42 gear...then again I shouldn't suggest anything without knowing your tire height.
  10. Took me a moment to realize what you meant.
  11. I will take your experiences and Don's excessive experiences on B&M and stay clear of their transmissions. "My" own personal experience with their shifters is like what Don said "Good". I've had mine in my car for several years and it hasn't failed me yet...
  12. Wow...and I thought I had bad luck...glad to see it is spread around the country and it's just not me... ...oops, sorry for laughing, I do feel for you...
  13. Well that is sad B&M is sticking to that story cuz no way would 377 flywheel hp destroy that tranny...
  14. Almost didn't recognize you with the new name...much better...
  15. I see you reponded ahead of me and said that you did purchase it locally...
  16. I purchased a tranny (mail order) that was "supposedly" built with the best of parts. It failed 30 days after the warranty expired...I had inflicted no abuse on the tranny (no sticky tire launches) but normal driving, later found to be not built to my specs. I took it to a local tranny shop (Cottman Transmission) and to visibly see the enthusiasm in the guy who would be rebuilding my tranny was reassuring. I have since beat the daylights out of the tranny and it is holding strong. I agree find a local speed shop or equal to build such parts...
  17. Right there in Brunswick, have you ever passed Laurel Square Plaza on a Saturday (3:00 P.M. to dark)? Hundreds and hundres of cars every week... It's the spot in the middle of the photo...must not of been taken on a Saturday...
  18. He goes by KLASSIK1 on this site if you want to look for his posts. Here's a link to his web page... http://www.koniksklassiks.com/ He's listed under parts sources which is under Resources on the FGMCC Home Page...
  19. Welcome to the site, nice car...love the color. I'm from the Cleveland area, do you plan on taking it to the local shows? I'll be looking for your car this Spring on the roads... Bill
  20. Sam, quick question...did you roll the odometer back to 0?
  21. I looked at that site again and it says...Wheel & Tire Package, at first I didn't catch the "package" part. Was that for one rim and tire or all four rims and tires? Now I'm just curious.
  22. Wow, over $5,000 in wheels and that doesn't include the tires... Cool wheels though... See if they have them on this site to at least see what they will look like on the car... Link I just noticed in the link I gave you through the E-mail that the car has like a 2" adapter/spacer on it. You might be best off buying that tool mjs-13 suggested. It will save you headaches and having to take the word of someone when they will say it will fit. Bill
  23. You are not the only one, I tried showing that to another person and they couldn't get in no matter what. Jaylene, How did you copy the picture? It would erase itself when I did it... Bill
  24. 15 x 8 with 5" of b.s.
  25. Thanks for that link...I've been looking for one like that forever...
