I just noticed the photobucket thing myself. Sad as I have been using them for a long time.
Interestingly enough, if I open the pictures by right clicking and opening in a new window they will now load here.
I had a 2 barrel on my 350 with that same solenoid that I assumed was for a fast idle during cold start. Had no AC. It would turn off after a short time but can't recall how it knew coolant temp.
What did you go with for the wiring? Controller etc.
I installed a headlight relay wiring harness to bypass the headlight switch. Stock bulbs noticeably brighter. Next is replacement lenses with H4 Halogen bulbs.
I have been looking for a center console that is not a factory type but will accept a horseshoe shifter. Anyone know of something like that? I have a lot of parts I am hoarding with the dream one day of actually installing some. Bucket seats, floor shift, 12 bolt rear, 454, steering box from a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee among a bunch of stuff yet to buy.
Go adjustable? I have a few things that will be done at the same time. Have boxed lowers to go with a sway bar and hopefully I can get the 12 bolt rear out of the parts car and throw that in.
Yes it does. Been looking at that kit for 2 years now. Sadly the American dollar going up did not help. To my door it will probably cost me about 2k for front and rear. Hard pill to swallow. I need a new front suspension though as mine is the original and it's sagging so bad I scrub my fenders when I turn.
That and I have a 454 waiting it's turn in the engine bay.
That last picture is what I was thinking of. The T not hooked up goes to the pcv connection on the charcoal canister. Looks like someone capped it to bypass the canister for some reason.
Ok I think there are some differences on the carbs.
I have an electric solenoid on the driver side of the carb where you have a vacuum connection.
The vacuum line at the base of the carb on the left I believe went to my vacuum advance on the distributor. The line on the right to the air doors on the air cleaner.
This little guy I believe went to the charcoal canister.
Driver side shot of the carb.
Interestingly the pcv connection comes off the intake and not the carb on at least this 2bbl. Not that I have seen many. Let me know if you need pics of different angles.
Edit: Thinking about the pcv connection. I think I remember it was possibly T'd at the connection for the charcoal canister and the pcv so it would draw vapor from the canister and gasses from the valve cover. Been a long time since I had it mounted as with the way its sitting in the box there would be no connection for the canister. I would have to find my original valve covers to see if there is another connection on them.
If you like, I can take some pictures of the 2g Rochester and intake I pulled off mine. Haven't had the heart to get rid of it and this would be the second time it's come in handy.
I remember doing my turn signal switch repair about 9 years ago. Part was still being sold in a generic multi part pack at Canadian tire of all places. Took me about an hour including the time to make a tool to press the snap ring on the wheel. At least that what I think I did...
I saw the offerings from March last time I went to Carlisle but I'm pretty sure I saw it noted that A body fitment wasn't available. Could be wrong though. At least for the set I was looking at. I'm trying to stay away from the chrome/aluminum look as much as possible and keep things low key.
So a while ago I got a running 454 for a decent price here in Canoodia though it did not come with any accessories. I had previously purchased an alternator and ps pump so I'm covered there and still haven't picked up the water pump. My desire right now would be to put on a serpentine belt setup on it. Sadly I haven't been able to find one that does all the accessories without A/C and all in black. Any leads?
On a side note, I was thinking of going to a lumpier cam. I believe its the stock one in it. It has an aluminum intake but otherwise the heads are still the original iron. Any ideas on that? I've never done a cam so will have to look into the difficulty of removing it.
I can second the redtek product. Put it in my Subaru which had been getting a bit warm then stopped working at all. Now it blows ice cold. Keep in mind that it is propane based so it is a bit more flammable than the other types.
More good news is its non ozone depleting so it's not harmful to the environment such as r134 and r12 are.
I ended up with a 98 jeep box. have yet to put it in though. Got a new rag joint and the press in seats to use the existing lines from Lee Power Steering.
I think its normal to have an inch or so down in the radiator. Because our cars normally dont have an expansion tank the coolant has to go somewhere when it heats up and expands. I plan on adding an expansion tank when I switch to an electric fan. Should keep the rad nice and full not to mention cool.
